Pitzer College is launching a comprehensive redesign of its website in 2023. The Senior Manager for Web Strategy provides leadership and vision on the team overseeing this process and in setting the strategic direction for and overseeing the effectiveness of the College’s website going forward. The Senior Manager helps to clearly define, articulate, and promote Pitzer’s brand and distinctions through its website and broader digital presence. The Senior Manager reports to the Assistant Vice President (AVP) for Communications; works closely with Communications colleagues and the ITS department on web-related goals and priorities; and represents the Pitzer website with peers in the Claremont Colleges Consortium. The Senior Manager serves as the central Web advisor and manager for College constituents, ensuring content management system (CMS) training and assistance, providing site access, and setting standards to ensure content quality across units.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS ?
Develop and oversee a dynamic, interactive and comprehensive website that meets the needs of multiple external and internal constituencies, playing a key role on the team leading the 2023 overhaul of the site.
Oversee future enhancements to the site and development of any microsites. Work with the Communications team to ensure content is relevant, current and linked to the overall mission and positioning of the College.
Work with and counsel College constituents in a collaborative way that earns confidence and trust, both in the Senior Manager role and the Communications department, as go-to, expert counselors and implementers. Exhibit exceptional judgment when working with team members, College “clients” and vendors.
Train users in the CMS and serve as a College-wide resource on Web-related strategies, quality matters, and best practices.
Oversee and implement multiple projects simultaneously and supervise one or more team members or freelancers. Work collaboratively as in integral player in a fast-paced multi-disciplined communications department.
Possess familiarity and ability to collaborate on development of blogs, podcasts, and other multi-media content for download/viewing by multiple constituencies.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Possess strong written and oral communication skills.
Must have access to reliable and secure computer and internet connection. Must maintain password protection for work files and records and ensure that no one else has access to password and login credentials at remote work site.
Must have access to a dedicated and suitable workstation at remote location, including desk or table and supporting, upright chair. Must ensure workstation is safe and free from hazards.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
8-10 years of Web-based marketing experience
Understanding of CMS, design software, online technologies and applications (wikis, widgets, RSS feeds, blogs, etc.).
Programming experience a plus; technical know-how in website development and digital marketing tools/trends
Understanding of what makes a compelling, functional, rich, and relevant website that achieves College brand and communications objectives is a must.
History of working well with diverse groups of people to accomplish goals and objectives.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree preferred.
Communications/marketing/public relations experience or exposure a strong plus.
Experience in a higher education or other nonprofit setting strongly preferred.
Work Model: This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week for 12 months per year. The regular hours for this position will be scheduled between 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. These hours may vary due to needs of the College or department.
Anticipated Starting Salary: $80,000
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and internal equity
