Summary of Duties:
The Office of Student Services in the College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (CPPS) is an energetic and highly fast-paced environment where we rely heavily on current technologies to meet the demands of Pharmacy undergraduate, professional, and graduate students and our stakeholders.
The Graduate Program Coordinator serves as a member of the Student Services team providing quality support to graduate and students in the Pharmaceutical Sciences and Molecular Medicine program. The Graduate Program Coordinator manages the delivery of services offered to the graduate students focusing on administrative processes and policies that help to develop, advance, and sustain the program's mission and recruitment and retention of students. This position will also collaborate with the Director of Student Services and the Director of the Graduate Program to develop policies and procedures for student programming.
This position may require occasional travel to local, regional, and national locations for recruitment, training and professional development.
Specific duties may include but are not limited to:
Answer student inquiries and resolve problems related to curriculum and course prerequisites, referring to catalogues, written course descriptions, and other appropriate sources.
Develop a holistic student success approach that is tailored to individual student needs, by providing proactive, targeted support for all students.
Serve as the first point of contact for both prospective students on admissions process and general information about the programs and for students, faculty, and staff on day-to-day operational and administrative issues.
Partner with central university offices, including but limited to Registrar's, Admissions, Disability Services, Military/Veterans, Career Services, International Programs, etc. to ensure seamless student support.
Assist with onsite recruitment events, including booking travel, arranging hotel accommodations for interviewing applicants, presenting information, providing tours, and occasionally transporting students to and from campus.
Required Qualifications:
Positions require a Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of professional work experience in student services or related education/experience. A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Additional Requirements:
Experience providing support and/or coordinating activities related to student services in higher education such as admissions, advising, career counseling, financial aid, outreach, recruitment and/or retention.
Demonstrated computer software skills, including the ability to use office software, such as databases, spreadsheets, word processing, and Outlook.
Advanced skills in the use of Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and Outlook.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability work collaborative in a team environment.
Ability and willingness to occasionally travel, work weekends, and work after regular business hours.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize job tasks effectively and multi-task to meet deadlines.
WSU ACADA Level 1 certification within six (6) months of hire.
Position requires a valid unrestricted driver's license and occasional travel (which may be overnight) locally, regionally, and/or nationally for training, recruitment, and/or professional development.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in related field.
Experience at WSU or other institute of higher education within a student services role (including student recruitment and retention, academic support or advanced degree programs).
Working knowledge of learning styles, retention strategies, and academic success strategies.
Strong public speaking skills and the ability to develop and deliver engaging and informative presentations to students and parents.
Experience using student records databases/programs for higher education institutions.
Experience implementing student related policies and procedures.
Previous work experience with a graduate program other educational program.
Experience working with diverse faculty, students and staff.
Familiarity with Washington State University academic rules and regulations.

Monthly Salary: $3,750.85 - $4,500.00; dependent on qualifications and experience.
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Successful candidates typically begin up to mid-point of the salary range.
