SUMMARYOF ACF AND THE ROLE ACF envisions a world where living music creators are celebrated as essential to human culture. We are leading catalysts in an ecosystem that invites generations of composers, artists, advocates, and audiences to pursue this vision with us.
Our commitment to being a racially equitable organization guides us and our work. We intentionally learn and practice anti-racism, and we support an ecosystem that is equitable as well as inclusive. (Click here to read our statement of commitment to racial equity.) The ACF Board and staff are committed to continued learning and practicing principles to create and sustain a welcoming, dynamic, and inclusive environment.
Currently in its third of a five-year ambitious strategic plan, ACF is focused on further developing itself as a national space that supports and advocates for living music creators. As part of the plan ACF has deepened its investment in digital strategies: our in-house record label, innova, is focused on digital placement and licensing for its recording artists; in 2020 ACF acquired the multimedia hub I CARE IF YOU LISTEN; and we are curating more resources and opportunities to empower artists in the digital marketplace.
The Director of Digital Media is a newly-created position that will play a significant role in leading our digital strategy in the following areas: overseeing all ACF digital platforms (websites, social media, emails) to ensure engaging content and messaging; developing relationships with media influencers; curating ACF’s digital media resources for artists; guiding the organization’s digital strategy; and serving as staff lead for a branding refresh and website redesign (with external consultants and board involvement).
The Director of Digital Media will maintain a birds-eye view of ACF’s digital media platforms while working collaboratively with staff to ensure effective engagement in and promotion of programs as well as the artists involved in them. They report to the Executive Director and will serve as a member of senior staff leadership. This position supervises the social media consultant and is the main liaison to our website development and support company, Bust Out Solutions. The Director of Publications – who edits I CARE IF YOU LISTEN (ICIYL) – will report to this position to ensure alignment with the multimedia hub. A part-time Assistant Editor supports ICIYL and manages ACF’s e-communications, reporting to the Director of Publications.
The Director of Digital Media will work closely with the innova Recordings team as they build a new model of support for artists in digital content creation and distribution. This role will collaborate with the Director of Artist Support and Director of Development and Operations as well.
