The Associate Dean supports the day-to-day operations of the Dean's office and provides leadership for the development and review of credit and non-credit programming in the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences. The Associate Dean supports CEBS faculty in academic program continuous improvement efforts including ongoing program assessment and internal academic program review processes. The Associate Dean assists faculty with the assessment, compliance, and reporting requirements of specialized program accreditation. The Associate Dean engages with CEBS stakeholders to foster collaborative relationships, partnerships, and opportunities. The Associate Dean reports to the Dean and serves as Acting Dean in the absence of the Dean. Specific tasks are outlined below. This is a full-time, 12-month appointment. Duties, by category, include the following:
Consults with CEBS faculty on academic program planning, development, evaluation, and modification.
Supports CEBS faculty in meeting the requirements of specialized program accreditors including self-study report preparation and review.
Oversees CEBS ongoing implementation of Anthology Portfolio (assessment data management software).
Periodically reviews and discusses assessment data with faculty in continuous quality improvement efforts.
Serves as CEBS Liaison to the Kentucky Office of Education Licensure and Effectiveness (OELE) including assisting program faculty in preparing revisions to curriculum contracts, syllabi, and program review documents.
Provides information and support to program faculty about state approval issues relative to educator preparation programs.
Coordinates the development and submission of periodic reports and surveys.
Title II IPRC (Institutional Report Card).
Represents the CEBS Dean's Office on college and university committees, frequently serving as committee chair.
Represents the CEBS Dean and Dean's Office at a variety of outreach and recruiting events.
Job Requirements:
A doctorate in a related field to a CEBS discipline.
At least 3 years higher education administration experience.
Tenured with a rank of Associate or above.
Relevant experience with college curriculum, accreditation, and analysis activities.
Successful project management experience.
