University Enterprises Corporation at CSUSB ('UEC') supports the university's educational mission by providing quality services that complement the instructional program. The University depends upon UEC to provide services that cannot be supported with state funds. We're responsible for business enterprises on campus including, but not limited to, dining, bookstore, convenience store, and vending services. We also serve as the grantee for federal, state, and local funding for research and sponsored projects.
Position Summary
Temporary, full time- Exempt, benefited position through 9/30/2023 (Appointment may be renewed annually based upon availability of funds, availability of work and satisfactory job performance).
Salary: $6,666.00-$9166.00 per month

Program Summary:
The Inland Empire and Coachella Valley Women's Business Centers are programs of the Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship at the Jack H. Brown College of Business at CSUSB. The WBCs are a federal program partially funded by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) & the California Governor's Office of Business & Economic Development (GO-Biz). The WBCs are operated by IECE though CSUSB's University Enterprises Corporation (UEC) which provides the administrative, accounting, financial, human resources and support structures for research and grant funded programs at the University.
The mission of the Women's Business Center is counsel, teach, encourage, and inspire women business owners at every stage of development and expansion. The WBC vision is empowerment through entrepreneurship. The WBC offers webinars, business counseling, and programs to entrepreneurs and small business owners in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties with offices in Colton (IEWBC) and Palm Desert (CVWBC).
Work Schedule
Exempt. Varies, typically Monday-Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. with some evenings and Saturdays. Occasional Sundays

Typical Activities
Under minimal supervision of the IECE Director, the Project Director will work independently to:
Develop and implement a yearly proposal aligned with the goals and strategic priorities of the SBA, Go-Biz and IECE.
Maintain effort on achieving the core focus of supporting and celebrating entrepreneurs and small business owners.
Analyze and evaluate service needs for clients and make appropriate assignments to business counselors, administrative team, and other resources.
Development and management of multiple funding streams and expenditures, compliance, and reporting.
Proactively manage budget expenditures, recommend expenditures, and maintain cumulative cash flow records for Center operation. Coordinate with UEC Auxiliary Accounting on all budget and financial transactions.
Proposal development and submission of quarterly and annual reports.
Ensure timely and accurate consulting data input into CRM system.
Supervisory management of client control records and data.
Evaluate and measure effectiveness and impact of center's programs and services.
Recruit, select and evaluate employees.
Supervise consultants training, consulting, and reporting activities.
Promote staff development by utilizing continuing education opportunities to enhance professional development.
Develop, implement, and evaluate a marketing plan for the WBC program including strategies for local program promotion.
Promote the WBC program and advocate for small business through presentations to communities and entities.
Represent IECE in an official capacity regarding program activities, and coordinate communication with the business community of the Inland Empire region area and negotiate with relevant agencies and organizations.
Fundraising of cash match for the program.
Develop relationships with key stakeholders (external and internal) including but not limited to SBA District Office, UEC, banks, chambers of commerce, economic development organizations, educational institutions, legislators, and trade groups.
Provide and facilitate free, in depth confidential business consulting.
Plan and market no cost training on subjects relevant to small business startup and growth stages.

Represent the WBC Program at weekly L10 meetings, actively engage in the IECE EOS.
IEWBC director will represent WBCs and Women's Entrepreneurship as part of the IECE Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS)
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in a business-related field is preferred; or equivalent experience in business management or small business development for 2 years; or equivalent experience in financial analysis more than 2 years; or bachelor's degree in any field with either two years of small business development or business ownership.

Must be a current small business owner, have owned a small business in the past, or have relevant small business experience.
Business/Management/Program Experience Required business, management and program experience includes:
Key understanding of current issues facing small business and experience in advising small businesses.
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and lead a diverse team.
Experience in managing multiple projects, grants, or contracts and adherence to financial and program reporting requirements.
Experience delivering business presentations on a variety of topics in a public setting to diverse audiences.
Experience in program development, including but not limited to grant and proposal writing.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form. Ability to establish and maintain effective and harmonious work relations with staff, clients, government agency(s), business resources, and the general public.
Ability to perform effectively under the pressure of deadlines and other administrative demands.
Computer skills with working knowledge of various software packages are necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in working collaboratively as part of a diverse leadership team with a focus on strategic planning and integrative program development and operations.
Experience in working in a University and/or Auxiliary organization, or similar complex organizational operating context.
Familiarity and experience working within the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS).
