Job Summary: SUNY Brockport, State University of New York is accepting applications for an Assistant Director of New Student Programs. The Assistant Director is responsible for leading the development and implementation of transition programs including first-year and transfer student orientation. Golden Eagle Orientation is an integral part of Brockport's recruitment, transition and persistence cycle. The Assistant Director leads the development, organization and assessment of this flagship program. As part of the Academic Success Center leadership team, the Assistant Director is also a key organizer of diverse student belonging, persistence, leadership and success initiatives. Our comprehensive lifecycle programming includes major campus initiatives such as Golden Eagle Orientation, the Academic Planning Seminar, Peer Mentoring programs, Transfer and Second-Year support, the Military Support and Engagement Committee, historically minoritized student support, and first-generation student support among other cross-divisional academic and student engagement initiatives. The Assistant Director is involved in the support and guidance of these programs. This includes the supervision, development and support of the First-Year advisement team, Graduate Assistant(s), and student leadership staff. Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree by time of appointment from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized college or university.
Minimum of three years of progressively responsible leadership experience in new student and orientation programs, student success, transition programs, or orientation management at a college or university.
Demonstrated experience in staff supervision.
Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.
Experience developing, organizing, and administering budgets.
Experience in formulating student outreach initiatives.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Master's degree from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized college or university.
3+ years of progressively responsible leadership experience in new student and orientation programs, student success or transition programs at a college or university.
Experience managing a budget over $50,000.
2+ years of direct professional supervisory experience.
Strong management of multiple functional areas and organization of institutional resources to meet goals and objectives.
Work Schedule: M-F day hours, some nights and weekends Salary and Benefits: $57,846 May be benefits eligible; more information at Careers@Brockport.
