The GSD offers an exciting setting for interaction and the exchange of ideas through the combination of disciplines—architecture, landscape architecture, and urban planning and design—together with the research of our studio-based as well as MDes and Doctoral programs. We are seeking an energetic and forward thinking individual to work as part of a team to support the overall student services operation of the GSD. NOTE: This is a 6-month Term position with the possibility of continuation
TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides support to various Aid Office staff
Assists with processing of aid applications for approximately 900 US and international students, and performs need analysis, as well as advising students on aid matters, including loan counseling.
Assist with handing inquiries from prospective applicants during the admissions process.
Assists students, both in-person and virtually, with various requests and aid inquiries
Helps organizes office policies and procedures, and office manuals.
Helps process outside awards, including Veterans benefits, sponsored awards, private loans and outside scholarships.
Assists with various quality control measures related to administering and disbursements of funds.
Assists with collection of required information. Monitor's student aid files during the year for any required documentation, including the verification process. Is responsible for making sure student issues are resolved prior to registration/commencement.
Works as part of a team to troubleshoot work-study process throughout the year including communication with students, payroll coordinators and Student Employment Office.
May serve on school-wide committees as needed.
Other related duties as needed.

BA with 3-5 years of financial aid experience.
Advanced level Microsoft Word, Excel, database and web-based technology required.
Strong written and oral presentation skills as candidates must be able to represent the HGSD to a broad range of students, families, guidance counselors and schools.
Past experience in financial aid is required and candidates should have a strong working knowledge of word processing, Excel and database systems.
Experience with Powerfaids Net Partner and Report Writer preferred.
Must be adaptable and have an aptitude for learning new technology.
Experience with graduate level students preferred. Harvard experience a plus.
