Ohio Wesleyan University is a selective, private, undergraduate liberal art, residential institution founded in 1842 and located just 20 miles north of Columbus, is seeking candidates for the position of Associate Registrar. This is a salaried Full-time position withbenefits.
The Associate Registrar provides a vital liaison role between the Office of the Registrar and the students at Ohio Wesleyan University. Responsibilities for the position include processing student transfer credit, updating and creating transfer equivalencies, course registration, enrollment verification, and performing other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities and duties:
Evaluate and enter all transfer credit and provide student and advisor with results
Process transfer credit applications for current students for summer and study abroad courses
Work with the Office of Admission to increase OWU's transfer population
Create and update transfer equivalencies in TES system
Graduation audits and clearing process for all students current and prior
Provide graduation reports for all offices
Posting graduation honors on transcripts
Participate in the Commencement ceremony
Missing final grade research
Processing and follow up for Incomplete grades
Process Degree Audit exceptions
Help students navigate Degree Audit
National Student Clearinghouse
Process enrollment files for the National Student Clearinghouse
Process enrollment file errors
Class Registration and Course Scheduling
Process schedule changes initiated by students (paper and electronic)
Assist with classroom location scheduling requests from faculty
Process course scheduling changes for department chairs
Cross trained in all areas of the office
Secondary School Certifying Official for Veteran Affairs
Answer the main phone line and assist all front desk customers
Use front computer to help students use self-service, degree audit, transferology, etc
Process hard-copy transcript and e-transcript requests
Check Registrar email account, voicemails, and mail and distribute as appropriate
Process enrollment verification letters
Inventory and order all office supplies and restock paper forms
Manage and edit student and parent address, phone #, etc in student info system
Enter graduation application info in student information system
Send, track, and reconcile payments for FedEx shipments
Respond to department requests for data (ie: eligibility for honors societies)
Supervise student employees
Factors contributing success:
* Bachelor's degree preferred
* University office or equivalent experience (Registrar's Office experience preferred)
This position requires an individual who is computer savvy, detailed oriented, and possess an aptitude for helping others. Excellent communication skills and a strong analytical capacity are required as well as exhibiting self-direction and motivation to enhance the student experience through excellent customer service.
