The successful applicant will teach courses primarily in our school counseling program and help supervise field placement experiences, with secondary teaching opportunities in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMCH) program, depending on candidate qualifications. The school counseling program is the second largest program in the School of Education, with growing student demand. The CMHC program has a partnership with the Riverside Free Clinic, in Riverside, California, so offers additional opportunities for growth and contribution to our faculty and students. Both programs (School Counseling and CMHC) are mission aligned with the school's commitment to prepare diverse graduates and professionals to serve in diverse communities throughout the Inland Empire.
Candidates interested in the ABD or the postdoctoral opportunity will join an active community of scholars, which includes opportunities to participate in faculty development and potential activities under the auspices of our newly revamped Center for Educational Justice. Candidates will receive mentorship in developing their teaching skills, and also developmental and mentorship support to either complete the dissertation (ABD) or begin building a research and writing agenda (postdoctoral).
