The Division of Student Affairs supports dynamic co-curricular learning and engagement for all undergraduate and graduate students within the School of Arts & Sciences, the School of Engineering, and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts (SMFA@Tufts).  As a central resource supporting the safety, engagement, and wellbeing of all Tufts AS&E students, the Office of the Dean of Student Affairs promulgates community standards; coordinates communication between campus constituencies and departments; supports programs and activities to advance student learning; facilitates the coordinated support of individual students, and; works cooperatively with members of the faculty and the colleges’ senior leadership team to ensure the successful achievement of institutional and divisional goals, vision, and values.

This is a hybrid role with the expectation that this role will predominantly be in person during the academic semesters, with the possibility of additional remote flexibility during summer and winter breaks.

Supports the work of the Dean of Student Affairs and DOSA office by carrying out complex executive administrative duties which include: assisting the deans in managing and prioritizing communications with internal and external constituencies; organizing and planning logistics of meetings, retreats, and events; editing, proofreading, and composing correspondence and reports; participating in or leading assigned projects for the dean’s office; and organizing and planning complex and worldwide travel arrangements; planning and coordinating meetings and special events, including contacting speakers, designing promotional material and coordinating support for speakers and presenters.

Basic Requirements:

• Knowledge and skills as typically acquired by a high school diploma/GED and 5+ years of administrative experience OR a bachelor's degree and 3+ years of experience.
• Requires advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including word processing, calendar management, editing and graphics functions, spreadsheet and database knowledge.
• Bookkeeping or basic accounting knowledge and excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to use communication platforms including but not limited to, Zoom, Google Meet, Teams, etc.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize and multi-task with minimal supervision or guidance.
