Responsible for the integrity of Indiana University’s intercollegiate athletics program and for protecting the reputation of the institution through compliance with all relevant NCAA, Big Ten and Institutional rules.

Responsible for many processes cutting across Bylaws 13, 14, 16 and 17, including but not limited to: (1) monitoring of official visits, camps & clinics, outside competition; (2) monitoring of student-athlete services related to complimentary admissions, housing/vehicles, awards, meals, etc.; and (3) initial eligibility review as assigned.

General Responsibilities

Complies fully with all NCAA, conference, and Indiana University rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.

Determines, projects, or monitors student-athlete academic, financial, and competition eligibility.

Serves as the primary compliance liaison and advisor for specified sport(s) and sport(s) staff.

Interprets or provides education on NCAA and conference legislation, as well as institutional policies, for athletic department staff, coaches, student-athletes, boosters, and other constituencies.

Develops, writes, and submits conference and NCAA Waivers and Violations as assigned.

Stays up-to-date with rules and rules interpretations as they pertain to athletics compliance.
