Position:

The Middle School English teacher will design curriculum for older middle school and/or younger upper school students. As a full-time faculty position, this role includes serving as an advisor for 10-12 students and supporting a co-curricular activity by coaching a sport or advising a major school activity. All faculty members are expected to support activities and events that contribute to the life of the school and to attend departmental, divisional, and all-school staff meetings.

Qualifications:

An undergraduate degree in English, Humanities or a similar discipline is required, and a graduate degree is preferred.  We seek candidates with at least three to five years of successful independent school teaching experience including familiarity with middle school literacy development, creating cross-curricular connections through literature and writing, and teaching a balanced repertoire of classical canon and young adult literature.
