The Environmental Services (EVS) Department is responsible for all aspects of housekeeping functions/services in all UCDH owned and leased facilities.
Applications received will be considered for AM, PM and Night EVS Custodial Supervisor positions in the Main Hospital and EVS Outlying Unit.

Responsibilities
Under the general direction of the EVS Manager, your will oversee the scheduling, organization, and supervision of custodial services staff and operations. You will coordinate the daily operations of the Environmental Services department to provide a clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing environment to patients, visitors, and staff. You will provide supervision to professionals and skilled technical employees, and act as an advisor to the unit and hospital administration. In the course of your work, you will be asked to analyze and resolve problems, interpret policy (e.g. fiscal management, contracts, HR, resource management), and exercise your judgment with departmental goals in mind. You will also provide direction to employees according to policy, monitor compliance and operational performance, and engage in long-term planning.

Required Qualifications

• Supervisory experience.
  
• Working knowledge of human resources management practices and policies.
  
• Knowledge of health care custodial cleaning standards.
  
• Knowledge and operation of Environmental Services trade skill equipment.
  
• Demonstrated ability to coach and instruct staff.
  
• Knowledge of relevant regulatory and industry codes, policies, standards and requirements.
  
• Intermediate computer application skills.
  
• Valid California Driver's License.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Supervisory experience in a healthcare facility.

• This position may be subject to a criminal background investigation, drug screen, Live Scan fingerprinting, medical evaluation clearance, and functional capacity assessment.
