The Assistant Director of Donor relations is responsible for the strategic development, management and evaluation of a comprehensive stewardship program for donors to the Foster School of Business. This position works collaboratively with the Director of Advancement Services, frontline fundraising officers, marketing, academic leadership, staff and campus partners to ensure that appropriate donor-focused activities take place according to strategic plans. The position is responsible for strong project management, maintenance of multiple existing stewardship systems, and an innovative approach to stewardship initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Program Development and Management
•Create and develop reports, presentations, project analyses, graphics, spreadsheets and other stewardship documents as needed. •Manage, maintain, and innovate online stewardship management tools. •Manage and execute donor recognition such as plaques, framed photos, donor walls, etc… •Manage pledge payment process including digital pledge reminders and tracking pledge payment schedules with frontline fundraising team. •Develop productive internal relationships with key partners, including academic leadership and Advancement team. •Serve as primary liaison to the Central Advancement team regarding the Consolidated Endowment Fund reports, stewardship initiatives. Attend campus stewardship meetings. •Act as a stewardship resource and advisor to the front-line fundraisers. Conduct in-person and group training and presentations on donor relations and processes. •In partnership with Director of Advancement Services, manage execution of University’s Gift Acceptance Policy, ensuring compliance while helping team strive for gifts of impact. •In partnership with gift officers, assist in developing stewardship plans for specific individual and corporate major gift donors. •Create annual stewardship plan.
Management of Endowment and current use gift funds
•In partnership with advancement officers, manage the process for establishing new endowment and current use gift agreements and/or amending existing agreements. Includes writing initial drafts, facilitating approval from Central Advancement team, incorporating edits, requesting gift budgets, assisting with pledge forms and/or gift transmittals and facilitating signing. •Manage and maintain endowment, gift and other databases which contains information pertinent to endowments, such as scholarship recipients, faculty recipients and amounts awarded. •Ensure that information related to endowments is properly recorded, communicated, and tracked. For example, track faculty appointments of endowed positions and provide academic leadership relevant budget information. Ensure donations are utilized appropriately and unspent funds are identified/resolved. •Work with academic leadership and degree departments in scholarship selection process, ensuring that donor preferences are taken into account and appropriate processes are followed. Calculate scholarship award amounts based on financial and gift reporting. Set up new scholarships in awarding database.
Gift Acknowledgement and Donor Impact Reporting
•Manage and execute the weekly gift processing and acknowledgement process to inform internal stakeholders of gifts and ensure that segmented and, when appropriate, customized donor correspondence is produced in a timely manner. •Manage and execute scholarship and faculty notification process. Includes securing videos and/or letters from recipients and delivering letters and/or videos to donors. Includes use of University online stewardship tools and e-mail marketing system. •Partner with Foster Advancement team to develop stewardship story ideas and content for segmented videos, reports, brochures or website. •Work in collaboration with the Director of Advancement Services to stream-line and automate existing processes and policies that impact stewardship and the donor experience.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree and three years of experience in advancement/development or related field.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Cubicle/Open workspace environment which may result in additional or higher levels of noise and visual distractions. Ability to work evening and weekend hours, as necessary, on short or limited notice.
