With support from the Chancellor, Vice Chancellor for Human Health Sciences, and the Dean of the School of Medicine, the Center for Precision Medicine and Data Sciences (CPMDS) leads UC Davis' efforts in Precision Medicine. Precision medicine takes a personalized approach to research and clinical care that results in better health outcomes and targeted treatments. Rather than using a 'one-size-fits-all' approach, precision medicine allows doctors and researchers to account for individual differences in genes, environments and lifestyles when developing a treatment plan or drug therapy. The CPMDS mission is to advance precision medicine and precision population health by convening new teams (team of teams), promote workforce development and use new tools and data sources to promote innovations in healthcare quality and public health.

ResponsibilitiesUnder general direction & supervision of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) the Administrative Officer 2 CX provides high level administrative support to the Director of the Center for Precision Medicine and Data Sciences (Center Director) and focused administrative support to Center leadership, including associate directors and CAO. Incumbent is expected to utilize initiative, judgment, and discretion in researching, analyzing, and compiling necessary background information to assist management in responding to a wide variety of complex issues. As principal support to the Center Director and Center leadership, the incumbent responds through verbal and/or written communication to a wide variety of inquiries through interactions with faculty, staff, trainees, students, the public and the highest levels of Health System, Campus and University administration, including the Offices of the President and the Chancellor; manages complex electronic calendars of the executives, independently committing each to action, determining priorities of meetings and resolving scheduling conflicts; provides support for meetings and travel.
The incumbent researches issues and initiates an array of correspondence on behalf of the Center Director and any of our executive leadership; independently assumes responsibility for issues that do not require the executive leadership involvement; applying problem-solving techniques to resolve various situations, and provides referrals to appropriate offices and authorities; must be familiar with UC policies and procedures to review all forms which require approval of the executive leadership. In addition, incumbent assists the CAO and others with daily operations such as working with the School of Medicine Finance team on purchasing and other financial transactions, building coordination, inventory of supplies, and human resources as needed.
Required Qualifications - High school diploma or GED and 1 to 3 years of relevant experience and/or equivalent experience or training.
- Proven ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential issues that require independent judgment and discretion, maintaining strict confidentiality of sensitive, confidential and/or privileged information.
- Experience scheduling, coordinating, and managing multiple and complex electronic calendars, meetings, projects and events with skill to reason and discern priorities when determining executive action.
- Experience working with senior officials and executives from within and outside the University, and ability to think strategically and serve as a sounding board.
- Experience establishing goals and workload priorities and organizing and coordinating multiple complex projects with competing deadlines

Preferred Qualifications - Associate Degree or Bachelor Degree preferred and 1 to 3 years of relevant experience and/or equivalent experience or training.
- Experience providing support to advisory councils and special committees.
- Thorough understanding of the mission of UC Davis Health and the sensitive nature of the School of Medicine Dean's Office
- Working knowledge of the operation and long-range goals and policies of UC Davis and UC Davis Health
- Knowledge of campus-wide offices, services and contacts, and campus policies and procedures to interpret inquiries and requests to formulate appropriate action or response.
