Job Summary/Basic Function:

• Conceives, designs, implements, and assesses new student programming including but not limited to Orientation, Spring and Transfer Orientation, and Extended Orientation. Includes planning and oversight of various cross-college committees, and coordination with MarCom & Admissions of messaging to students and families.
• Collaboratively works with Student Leadership & Campus Engagement (SLCE) and other Student Life division constituents to oversee implementation and assessment of primary leadership programs based on the Social Change Model. These may include but are not limited to Emerging Leaders Retreat, So/Jr Leadership Retreat, and Senior Leadership Symposium.
• Serves as an advisor to Student Senate and provides oversight of the disbursement of Senate/SLCE funds; may also advise the First Year Class, their officers, and in other advisory roles as needed.
• Budget and personnel responsibilities will include the annual creation of the New Student Program budget and the oversight/creation of budgets for leadership programs, recreational sports, and fraternity/sorority life. Provides oversight for recruitment, hiring, and annual evaluation of Assoc Director of Sororities and Leadership programs and Assistant Director for SLCE.
• Provide oversight, administrative support and leadership for policies designed to meet external and institutional compliance, such as the alcohol policy, hazing policy etc.; responsible for disseminating such information to student and campus constituents through the annual production of the Student Handbook and its supporting documents.
• Collaborate with the VP for Institutional Effectiveness and Inclusivity or her/his designee on ensuring that issues of diversity, inclusion and leadership have been embedded into the programming efforts led by SLCE.
• Serve on divisional, institutional and cross-divisional search or project teams or committees.
