The Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development (ABCD) Study is the largest long-term study of brain development and child health in the United States, following nearly 12,000 youth for at least 10 years. The ABCD Research Consortium consists of the ABCD Coordinating Center (ABCD CC), Data Analysis, Informatics & Resource Center (ABCD DAIRC), 48 Principal Investigators (PIs), and over 200 investigators and research staff across 21 institutions. The study is funded by and conducted collaboratively with 10 Institutes and Centers of the National Institutes of Health, with additional support from the National Science Foundation, the National Institute of Justice, the Centers for Disease Control, and the National Endowment for the Arts. The Analyst will support the Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development ABCD CC Co-Director and Associate Director for EDI. The Analyst will be the key staff for the Co-Director on workgroups and committees related to national liaison organizations and internal operational groups focusing on protocol, communication, and training. For the AD-EDI, the focus will be on diversity initiatives, coordination efforts between the CC and the Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) programs as well as the JEDI workgroups and high-level task forces. The Analyst will work with the Co-Director and Associate Director in designing and developing projects and analyses of high impact and high profile for the ABCD initiatives and facilitates the communication and implementation of decisions and special projects. This position has significant responsibility for helping to measure the ABCD goals for dissemination, compliance with safety standards, equity, and inclusion under the direction of the CC leadership. The Analyst collaborates with multiple stakeholders and constituencies across the ABCD Study. A primary focus of this position is to ensure transparent communication and information is available for CC decision-making and enhancement of diversity and equity initiatives.
Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of analytical practices, policies and procedures; researches, analyzes and develops solutions to a wide range of issues. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Primarily deals with policies, programs and proposals which are complex in nature and diverse in scope. Develops new programs, policies or procedures for possible implementation.
Knowledge of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion subject matter, including knowledge of the history and societal impacts of discrimination and unequal opportunity in the United States. Knowledge of diversity and social justice issues including but not limited to: race, ethnicity, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, religious, and class background.
Demonstrated fluency in lexical and programmatic EDI knowledge to effectively communicate, advocate, and advance mission.
Experience with integrating EDI goals into strategic priorities.
Experience with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle, as well as managing resources, scope, schedule, and budget.
Experience with project development and leadership of complex projects with significant impact.
Fiscal/budget management experience. Experience developing and managing budgets. Ability to understand basic accounting practices and procedures to analyze and interpret financial reports and results.
Experience with planning and executing medium to large meetings and events.
Knowledge of common organization- or research-specific and other computer application programs.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Ability to communicate effectively one-on-one or in group settings, taking into account differences in social, cultural, professional, and educational backgrounds as well as diverse opinions.
Advanced skills and techniques to recognize problem issues and situations and apply resourcefulness in finding appropriate solutions to mitigate potential negative effects and follow-through to ensure effective resolution.
