Summary Iowa State University has a great career opportunity within The Office of Student Financial Aid where we are seeking a StudentFinancial Aid Advisor I or II to join our team! In this role, you will provide financial counseling services for students and families. by providing information on aid applications and awards, scholarship availability, and eligibility requirements.
This is a 2 year term position.
This position can be hired as a Financial Aid Advisor I or II depending qualifications:
Financial Aid Advisor I
Pay Grade: PS805
Financial Aid Advisor II
Bachelorâs degree and 2 years of related experience
Pay Grade: PS806
Example of Duties â¢ Assists students and families by making recommendations, interpreting regulations, and reviewing petitions. â¢ Counsels students and families regarding financial aid including eligibility, application procedures, aid programs, costs, indebtedness, money management, and financial planning. â¢ Provides status updates regarding eligibility, scholarships, and applications. â¢ Provides specialized support for a financial aid area. â¢ Analyzes data and applies judgement. â¢ Evaluates individual circumstances and documentation and makes adjustments or exceptions based on judgement.
â¢ Reviews and processes supporting documentation to verify FAFSA application data.
â¢ Prepares and gives presentations related to financial aid and related topics.
Level Guidelines â¢ Individual contributor position with developing professional and/or technical skills working under immediate to general supervision â¢ Grasps professional-level knowledge and concepts of field while working in a progressive learning mode â¢ Works on problems and issues of somewhat limited scope â¢ Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data for which answers are available or can be obtained â¢ Responds to inquiries and issues, escalating to manager or higher level workers as appropriate â¢ May lead projects of limited scope and complexity â¢ May provide guidance to students
