OPPORTUNITY
HARBORVIEW MEDICAL CENTER - REHAB THERAPY has an outstanding opportunity for a part-time, day shift SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST 2, ACUTE CARE TEAM.

WHAT WILL YOUR DAY LOOK LIKE?
- Independently evaluate hearing, language, cognition, swallowing, communication and speech abilities and identify areas of impairment using various diagnostic tools for patients with typical and complex diagnoses;
- Develop treatment programs in collaboration with physicians, other speech-language pathologists, audiologists, psychologists, dietitians, respiratory therapists, social workers, physical and occupational therapists, counselors and/or teachers;
- Use appropriate treatment methods for receptive and expressive language disorders, cognitive communication disorders, swallowing disorders, articulation and voice disorders, stuttering and develop alternative means of communication (e.g., language board and sign language) for typical as well as complex patients;
- As a subject matter expert in a specialized area, provide advice to others, mentor staff, and provide objective feedback;
- Direct and evaluate speech-language pathology students and/or participate in student programming;
- Take the lead in defined program development, process improvement, or quality improvement projects for the department as assigned by a Speech-Language Pathologist 3 or manager;
- Perform the duties of a Speech-Language Pathologist 1; and
- Perform other duties as required.

WHAT’S NEEDED?
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communicative Disorders or equivalent degree approved by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association,
AND
- A Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech/Language and Hearing Association,
AND
- Two years of experience as a speech-language pathologist.

LICENSE REQUIRED
Current State Licensure in Speech Pathology (as Speech-Language Pathologist).
