Job DescriptionThe Associate Director (AD) is a key member of Operations Team at Woods College of Advancing Studies (WCAS) at Boston College that coordinates all and manages the academic and administrative business applications supporting online learning, administrative workflow, and enrollment management for our undergraduate and graduate students at the Woods College. This position reports to the Associate Dean, Finance & Administration. This position, in collaboration with the Woods Operations Team will drive the execution of the strategic plan in the specialized area of information technology systems and processes.
The AD will provide the oversight and management specifically and generally:
- Discernment and ongoing identification of faculty and staff IT and business platform requirements to ensure efficient and effective support of for all online and hybrid students and program stakeholders;
- Oversight of the CRM (currently SLATE), applications, and processes to ensure that requests are prioritized and implemented in a timely manner;
- In collaboration with Wood's System and Business Analyst manage system processes, procedures, and continual improvement across enrollment management systems, currently SLATE.
- In collaboration with the Director of Academic Services and Summer, determine enhancements for the faculty database, currently in SLATE to ensure that the tools are embedded to assist the scheduling of classes, licensing course content and training required of our part time faculty.
- In collaboration with Enrollment Management, determine enhancements for the accepted and enrolled students utilizing Slate as an outreach and information tool.
- In collaboration with Wood's Business Analyst support the implementation and training of enhancements of existing applications from IT, such as EagleApps, Navigate, etc..
- Support of system's processes and procedures across student advising functions, including applications that support advisor view into student academic progress and transcripts, graduation checks, and other systems that support academic and student life advising. The system currently in use is EAB Navigate.
- Define and lead the process redesign of workflows that would benefit from a change in process or automation.
- Identify and develop management reporting in support of the business needs across Woods College utilizing the data in Eagle Apps and in Cognos.
- In collaboration with the leadership team, identify priorities and respective timelines for data requests to be worked on and implemented.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Full-Time Equivalent Hiring Range: $86,200 to $107,700; salary commensurate with relevant experience.
RequirementsCandidates are required to have a Bachelor's degree, Master's Degree preferred. The ideal candidate has a minimum of five (5) years of experience in positions related to IT support in an academic environment with increasing breadth and level of responsibility; and experience working collaboratively with diverse constituents including graduate students, faculty, staff, and external vendors.
Required skills for this position include:
* Subject matter expertise in the business applications in an academic environment (Student Information Systems, Faculty Database, Student Advising Systems)
* Ability to effectively communicate business requirements from academic and administrative professionals at Woods
* Ability to stay current with evolving Boston College systems and administrative systems solutions
* Ability to tactfully and effectively respond to and handle a broad range of organizational, operational, and project management situations, challenges, and constraints
