Please take a moment to review NOVAâ™s Annual Security Reports.General Description: As the academic leader of all of the non-nursing health professions, the Dean of Health Sciences reports directly to the Medical Education Campus Provost. The Dean of Health Sciences has a scholarly vision and exceptional leadership qualities in his/her ability to advance the Collegeâ™s distinctive mission and vision, strategic goals, and policies and procedures, as well as administrative decisions, to manage the 10 degree programs, related certificates, and new programs as they are adopted by the community to meet local workforce needs. These include categories of imaging, dental, therapies and wellness, and clinical and ancillary services.Duties and Tasks:Develop, build, and maintain strong relations and provide leadership for the faculty in the health science division.Participate as a member of the College's instructional leadership team, and represent the College in the community.Work closely with health industry partners to:determine program development needs.design innovative curricula that enhance employees; skills and knowledge and comply with professional accreditation requirements.recruit students and faculty.manage the operational logistics of major contracts.Serve as liaison with outside agencies, community organizations, and other constituencies within the college.Create and develop an effective, collegial environment that fosters innovation and excellence in health professions education, clinical rotations, and community service.Responsible for daily operations, budget preparation, fiscal administration, and overall management of the Health Sciences Division.Provide instruction, where practical, on other campuses or as appropriate and in accordance with program Advisory Committees and the Pathway Advisory Council.Provide leadership, support and supervision for the faculty and staff of the Division of Health Sciences.Attend regional, state-wide, and national meetings in order to maintain professional growth and represent the College.Perform other duties as assigned.
