The Assistant Director for Student Involvementâ Student Groups works to create an environment of success for student organizations at Washington University. This employee will serve as an advocate for students by providing consistent resources and policies to all Washington University student groups. This position also oversees the implementation and application of the Washington University Group Organizer Campus Life branch, implementing a required student group registration process, and serving as point for any recognized student group conduct process. It is essential that this position establish strong and credible relationships to assist student groups in creating,
implementing, and evaluating their values, mission, and programs and activities. This employee will serve as a representative of Campus Life by supporting, attending, and participating in Campus Life functions, meetings, and programs.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Serves as the Primary Advisor to Student Union. Specifically the Student Union Executive Leaders, Student Senate, the advocacy entity within Student Union; theStudentActivitiesCommittee,thegoverningbodythatapprovesstudentgroupsseeking StudentUnionrecognitionandsponsorstheActivitiesFaireachsemester;and Election Commission. Coordinate support for advising framework for all SU entities and provide overall resources to additional advising staff.
Managesoveralltraining,resources,andeducationrelatedto registered studentgroups.Thisincludes coordination of an annual student group leader training program, continued student group leader education initiatives, and leadership curriculum.
Supervises student employees to include recruiting, hiring, training and general supervision roles.Â
Coordinates large scale individual leadership programming and retreat experiences on behalf of Campus Life.
ManagestheCampusLifenew group registration process.Â This includes process, criteria, review and onboarding of newly recognized groups on a semester basis.Â This process is in coordination with the Student Union recognition process.Â
Other duties as assigned.
Masterâ™s degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, or a related field.
Bachelorâ™s degree and three years of related experience.
Some positions may require a masterâ™s degree.
$49,000.00 - $83,800.00 / AnnuallyThe salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
