The Coordinator/Senior Coordinator for Late Night Programs serves as one of 4 staff reporting to one of the Assistant Directors in the Center for Student Involvement (CSI). The position will oversee, develop, and implement a variety of programs and events for students with an emphasis on late nights and weekends, including both smaller scale events and more sophisticated, large events that promote a sense of belonging on campus. This position is responsible for the coordination and implementation of department sponsored events that promote positive social connections around Halloween, St. Patrick’s Day, Finals and other times of the year when there is an increased need for programs on campus.
Additionally, the position will serve as a secondary advisor to Program Council, oversee program assessments for late night programs, and implement other special events that will be assigned to this position. In collaboration with students, staff, and faculty, the Coordinator/Senior Coordinator position will work to create a community in which each student feels a sense of belonging and community through campus events and programming.
This position will represent CSI on various university committees and board meetings, including the Late Night Program committee. This position will supervise 2-4 student event planner positions, in addition to assisting with Program Council student staff. This position interacts with all levels of staff. This position can expect to work a variety of hours, including nights and weekends.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Student Experience and Event Planning:
Support Student Affairs Divisional efforts around student experience which may include committee involvement and large-scale divisional programming around Halloween, Saint Patrick’s Day, Finals and other times when increased programming is needed.
Create a vibrant and engaging campus experience for all students at CU Boulder. In collaboration with students, staff, and faculty, this position will work to create a community in which each student feels a sense of belonging and community through campus events and programming.
Understand and implement risk management policies and procedures in the planning and execution of campus events.
Support the coordination of late-night and weekend programs during the academic year. This includes, but is not limited to budget management, developing programs and events, contract negotiations, and program assessment.
Support the creation and implementation of a monthly program series for late-night and weekend programming in collaboration with campus partners.
Human Resources Management:
Assist or lead the processes to recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate student staff within the student experience portfolio.
Supervise staff and in consultation with employees, set goals for performance and deadlines in ways that contribute to the department’s goals and vision.
Performs and oversees administrative and managerial responsibilities for 3-5 student staff event planners.
Serve as the secondary supervisor to Program Council, assisting the organization in a variety of areas including event planning, supervision support of student staff, and contract negotiations.
Ensure that all federal, state, university, and departmental hiring procedures are followed.
Student Organization Support:
Serves as a staff liaison for assigned categories of Recognized Student Organizations (RSOs).
Serves as a resource to student organizations by applying student development theory to step-by-step event planning, risk management, and budgetary advising. Assists in RSO training efforts.
Planning, Leadership and Assessment:
Provide vision and strategic direction for late night and weekend programming.
Create and implement program assessments and develop learning outcomes for late night and weekend programming.
Divisional and External Responsibilities:
Represent the Center for Student Involvement on various Division of Student Affairs and campus committees and working groups as assigned, including the Student Experience team and Late-Night Programming Committee.
Financial Oversight:
Assist in the annual budget process as a staff member within a cost center of CU Student Government.
Maintain accurate budget expenditure records, and plans for future contingency funds.
Administer all fiscal processes with maximum integrity and timeliness.
Follow all federal, state, university and departmental budget procedures.
Other duties as assigned:
Other related duties as assigned which could including staffing additional events, committee appointments, assisting CSI in planning informational programming, and facilitating presentations, etc.

This is a two-level position posting. All applicants will be considered for both the Coordinator and Senior Coordinator title, with subsequent offer and final position responsibilities determined based on candidate qualifications.

What We Require
Coordinator Level Hiring:
A bachelor's degree in social sciences or related field from an accredited college or university, equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.
One year of experience directly related to position duties and job description.
Senior Coordinator Hiring Level:
A bachelor's degree in social sciences or related field from an accredited college or university.
Three years of professional, fulltime job related experience.
Proven experience with weekly events, evening and late-night programs, student programming boards, and/or large-scale events.
Equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.

What We Would Like You To Have
Coordinator Level Hiring:
1 - 2 years of event planning experience in a higher education setting which could include weekly events, evening/late night programs, and/or large scale events.
1 - 2 years of experience advising student organizations and/or student boards.
Solid understanding of program assessment and developing learning outcomes.
Knowledge of student development theory.
Student staff supervisory experience.
Master's degree in the social sciences, higher education, or college student personnel.
Senior Coordinator Hiring Level:
A master's degree in College Student Personnel, Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, or a related field.
Two or more years of fulltime experience supervising weekly events, evening and late-night programs, student programming boards, and/or large-scale events in a higher education setting.
Two years or more of fulltime experience advising or working directly with students, student organizations or student programming boards/knowledge of student development theories and a strong dedication to diversity and community building.
Solid understanding in program assessment and developing learning outcomes.
Demonstrated incorporation of student development theory in work practice.
