Position Description: The GWM Strategy team oversees strategic sales planning and tactics for PIMCO U.S. GWM with the goal of maximizing revenues and leveraging opportunities where market trends and demands align best with PIMCO's product strength and expertise. We also analyze internal and external sales data with the goal of providing greater awareness of key business opportunities, outstanding client service and relationship management and insights that the firm can use in a number of ways (e.g. product development, resource allocation, etc.). In an effort to achieve these goals we lead the partnership with stakeholders across the firm to ensure awareness of US GWM strategy and their relevant role in those efforts.
The Data & Analytics role within Strategy will drive business results by enabling business leaders and account managers to make data-based decisions. They must be comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders and functional teams. The right candidate will be able to analyze disparate datasets, interpret the results, and articulate insights into digestible and actionable outcomes. This will include efforts across all sales channels and will touch upon a wide range of responsibilities, but not limited to those listed below:
Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to):
- Distribution Strategy
- Research various industry trends and maintain dynamic assessment of opportunities for US GWM based on industry activity and shifting investor demand and preferences.
- Support sales resource optimization, presenting options to improve existing coverage, describing potential changes & impact
- Support sales performance reviews, identifying and modeling key metrics linked to optimal business outcomes
- Sales Campaigns & Specialist Initiatives
- Deliver and evangelize data and insights to encourage data-driven decision making across US GWM
- Measure and articulate the effectiveness of sales and marketing campaigns
- Generate campaign-supporting deterministic and probabilistic sales leads to inform sales and marketing engagement
- Develop our understanding of client behavior by researching and exploiting new datasets
- Partner with product specialist teams to support and inform strategic growth
- Sales Analytics
- Enable & incorporate advanced metrics into the US GWM business through reports, presentations & interactive dashboards to drive data-based decisions.
- Work with large structured and unstructured data from multiple internal and external data sources to incorporate into analytical tools and dashboards.
- Iterate independently on evaluating new data sources for generating actionable insights that can improve sales efficiency & effectiveness.
- Apply advanced analytical techniques to uncover patterns and insights into complex data sets.
Reporting - Will report to VP, Strategy
Position Requirements: - 5+ years of related experience in a data focused role within the asset management industry
- Proven ability to drive business results with their data-based insights with strong experience using a variety of data mining/data analysis methods, using a variety of tools
- In-depth knowledge of Intermediary Distribution space within asset management industry
- Desire to assist on high impact and value projects across U.S. GWM
- Highly proficient in Python, SQL, and Excel
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and quantitative skills, with exceptional attention to detail and ability to synthesize data into observations / recommendations
- Embraces team first mentality and would excel at collaborating with others across departments
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Robust attention to detail, and openness to invite others to review work
- Maturity to cope with diverse and conflicting needs of different stakeholders, with the tact and discretion to find appropriate compromises.
