Job Description: Acts as a key leader in the development and execution of software quality methods and processes. Typically responsible for tests, methods, and procedures to ensure continuous improvement to software quality assurance standards. 1. Develop, execute, and document software/hardware/firmware test plans using both automated and manual testing to ensure products meet design specifications. 2. Assist with transforming manual test documentation into automated test scripts 3. Present progress and results of automated testing efforts to appropriate teams. 4. Continuously improve upon the productivity and efficiency of our testing efforts using innovative tools and techniques. 5. Setup/configure/maintain automated testing environments in a continuous integration setting. 6. Coach, mentor, and support other software quality engineers. Communicate effectively, manage conflict amongst team members, and remove impediments. 7. Stay current on new technologies and best practices as appropriate 8. Be able to test both ui centric applications as well as back-end services 9. Troubleshoot issues down to the root cause and provide detailed bug reports
Additional Job Duties:
To assist in the design and delivery of the team's overall testing methodology, have a wide understanding of Agile testing methodologies, procedures, and techniques.
Have the capacity to monitor the testing function's efficiency and make adjustments based on insights acquired through analysis at all stages of the SDLC/STLC.
Determine which tools and technologies can be deployed, keeping in mind what is already in use throughout the development function and the team's skill set.
Continuously improve upon the productivity and efficiency of our testing efforts using innovative tools and techniques.
Develop the test automation framework, harnesses, and code libraries so that the team can utilize and improve them across many projects.
Take charge of test infrastructure, including environments and software, and collaborate with teams like DevOps and Support on CI/CD and IT budgets.
To test and other business functions, provide technical know-how, documentation, and training.
Setup/configure/maintain automated testing environments in a continuous integration setting
Coach, mentor, and support other Software Quality Engineers.
Communicate effectively, manage conflict amongst team members, and remove impediments
Knowledge/ Skills Considered a Plus
Must have experience firsthand coding and the use of associated testing and pipeline tools
Experience in automating processes and tooling to support a development environment
Successful track record of leading the delivery of complex technology solutions using modern web and cloud-based technologies
SAFe/agile leadership experience
Full stack development of Java/J2EE & web applications using Spring frameworks and modules
Cloud platforms (PCF and Azure)
DevOps delivery of fully automated CI/CD pipelines
UI and native technologies including Angular & Swift
Design and development of fully automated test suites for UI and web services
Database and messaging technologies including design, development, performance monitoring and tuning
Demonstrated communication and presentation skills
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems or related field and/or equivalent formal training or work experience. Five (5) equivalent work experience in computer support or information technology environment. A related advanced degree may offset the related experience requirements.
