What does a great Software Architecture - Sr Advisor I do?
"We are looking for a Full Stack Software Engineering Advisor to join a dynamic team building a streamlined user experience for the DNA platform. The Software Engineering Senior Advisor uses in-depth knowledge and experience to implement transformational solutions that involve an Angular based UI with a C# services layer. Creates detailed specifications, implement enhancements, conduct quality reviews of peer's application programming, and act as a resource for team members with less experience. Provides counsel and advice to top management on significant Application Development matters, often requiring coordination between organizations. Acts as the designer for complex major systems and their subsystems utilizing a thorough understanding of available technology, tools and existing designs. Provides comprehensive consultation to business unit and IT management and staff at the technical level on all phases of application programming and processes for diverse development platforms, computing environments (e.g., host based, multi-tenant, distributed systems, client server, software, hardware, technologies and tools, etc.).
As a Software Architecture - Software Architecture - Sr Advisor I
you can expect to:
Responsible for the delivery of a feature / release from end-to-end from understanding the requirements thru deploying into production. This role requires you to be fluent in some of the critical technologies with proficiency in others and have a hunger to learn on the job and add value to the business. The advisor should have an automation first and continuous improvement mindset. He/she should drive the adoption of CI/CD tools and support the improvement of the tools sets/processes. The candidate needs to understand the interrelationships between systems and be able to write working software that will successfully integrate and interface these systems. From a system and design perspective this person will need to understand how different pieces work together and use REST APIs, library calls, database queries, micro services, etc. The candidate will play a technical lead role in an enterprise area responsible for driving innovative solutions adding value by adopting software engineering best practices. The candidate must possess excellent analytical and technical skills coupled with the ability to quickly learn new technologies.
Basic Qualifications:
* A good eye for UX, with basic knowledge of Bootstrap / Foundation, LESS / SASS / Stylus
* Experience in JavaScript build tools like grunt or gulp
* A history of working on consumer facing websites or applications
* Familiar with the challenges of responsive design and development
* Have led code review process, giving constructive feedback to peers
* Mentored junior developers, guiding them in best practices and problem solving
* Experience in the Financial sector is a plus
Preferred Skills and Experience:
* 10+ years in web development experience: Angular (10+), NodeJS, etc.
* 10+ years of experience in C# and services design
* 8+ years' experience with client-side scripting, JavaScript frameworks, and strong understanding of web markup, including HTML5, ES5/ES6, CSS3
* Experience with RESTful services
* Experience with Oracle Databases
* Familiarity with ngRx store and GraphQL is plus.
* Experience with iOS/Android/Windows device development
* Familiarity with Angular web components and extensibility
* Familiar with testing frameworks (Ex. Jasmine / Karma)
* Experience in performance testing (Ex. JMeter)
* Intimate knowledge of security best practices like OWASP.
* Experience in Git / Github and/or TFS
