Position Summary
The Assistant Dean of Prelicensure Clinical Partnerships collaborates with the administration and faculty of the MSON to oversee all aspects of clinical education in the prelicensure program and ensure quality achievement of program outcomes related to clinical education. The Assistant Dean of Prelicensure Clinical Partnerships is the designated MSON representative and contact for all clinical affiliates. This position facilitates the development, delivery, oversight, and evaluation of all aspects of clinical education including lab and simulation; provides mentorship and evaluation of adjunct clinical faculty; leads recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of prelicensure adjunct clinical faculty; orients and evaluates clinical, simulation and skills lab adjunct faculty in collaboration with other MSON administrators and faculty. The Assistant Dean of Prelicensure Clinical Partnerships seeks new and ongoing opportunities related to clinical partnerships and development, serves as a liaison to university departments and represents the McAuley School of Nursing selectively in community initiatives.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
(1) Administrative Leadership
Participates as a member of the McAuley School of Nursing Academic Leadership Team.
Recruits, hires, and orients clinical and simulation adjunct faculty, in collaboration with MSON administration.
Works collaboratively with other administrators and personnel to make clinical faculty assignments.
Works collaboratively to secure clinical placement sites for prelicensure programs and coordinate placements using ACEMAPP system.
Fosters and maintains current clinical partnerships (including evaluation of sites for ongoing placements) and actively seeks opportunities to develop new academic clinical partnerships.
Serves as a liaison to clinical and healthcare partners, as well as assigned MSON and CHP committees.
Conducts site visits to support students, clinical faculty, and site coordinators throughout each term.
In collaboration with MSON administrators and compliance office, communicates site-specific requirements to nursing faculty and students
Assures compliance in all aspects of clinical education with the State Board of Nursing rules and regulations.
Participates in required aspects of university assessment and accreditation processes.
(2) Faculty Facilitates and maintains an adjunct faculty orientation program in collaboration with MSON administrators and faculty.
Schedules regular adjunct faculty meetings for program updates and monitors adjunct compliance.
Implements a program of clinical adjunct evaluation.
Serves as a mentor and resource to prelicensure faculty.
Works collaboratively with MSON administration and faculty to review and develop policies related to clinical integration.
In collaboration with administrative staff and compliance officer, oversees clinical faculty registration and compliance with ACEMAPP requirements.
Works collaboratively with all aspects of simulation to identify quality improvement initiatives and seek opportunities to enhance clinical education.
Collaborates with faculty to assure NCLEX content is translated and implemented into clinical education.
(3) Students Facilitates compliance of student performance improvement plans through individual meetings and/or site with students and faculty as needed
Oversees end-of-term student evaluations of clinical faculty so that data are submitted and congruent with assigned faculty.
Works with CHP/MSON student success resources to create initiatives to facilitate student learning and success in clinical education.
(4) Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Masters Degree in Nursing (or related discipline) required or Doctor of Nursing Practice
2 years related experience required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Physical Requirements
Job may require lifting light weight objects (1 to 10 pounds) with no repetitive bending or stooping. Occasionally lift average weight objects (1 to 10 pounds).
Work Environment
Regular exposure to favorable conditions such as those found in a normal office.
Licenses/Certifications
Must be licensed by the State of Michigan as registered nurse.
