The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) is seeking an experienced, collaborative finance professional to serve as Vice President for Financial Planning and Analysis. The position is responsible for formulation, approval, execution and oversight of the operating and capital budgets for the School; supporting cost-benefit analyses for major business decisions; leading a team to explain budget decisions and resolve fiscal issues; and identifying opportunities for process and reporting improvements.

The position reports to the President of the SAIC and is a member of the President’s Cabinet. The position works closely with the SAIC’s Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and the Art Institute of Chicago’s Executive Vice President/Chief Financial Officer. The Vice President acts as a financial advisor and hands-on business partner to the President and the Provost, supporting operational, financial, and programmatic decision-making for all aspects of the School. They will lead cost-benefit analyses for major strategic initiatives and business decisions, including Long-Range Planning initiatives, academic programs, and operational opportunities.

The successful candidate will have a strong record of management and accomplishment in budgeting and planning and implementing budgeting and planning financial system; a master’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, Economics or a directly related field; eight to ten years of budgetary and financial analysis experience in a complex organization or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Experience with higher education finance and accounting practices is strongly preferred.
