Senior Director Corporate Strategy -MMS Location: Richmond, VA (REQUIRED)
McKesson's Corporate Strategy team is seeking to add a Senior Director Corporate Strategy team to support its existing team that would be responsible for identifying, evaluating and managing new business opportunities within our McKesson Medical-Surgical Division. In this role, the Senior Director will oversee market analysis, emerging industry trends and strategic needs as it relates to cross functional business endeavors within the Medical-Surgical Division. This key role will drive leadership in the project planning, designing and implementing of innovative business solutions by defining vision, strategies, and tactics to address market shifts in order to optimize McKesson's competitive position toward better business health.
Participates with other senior leaders to establish corporate strategic plans and objectives, identify strategic needs and prioritize areas of focus
Defines and manages multiple strategic projects towards deliverables and timelines
Manages expectations and results for BU leadership team, and executive-level BU stakeholders as appropriate
Interactions often involve controversial situations, customer negotiations, or influencing and persuading other senior level managers
Acts as thought-leader and lead advisor
Leverages presentations to develop the storyline and connectivity to other projects
Builds advanced knowledge of company's products and industry, specifically cross-BU functional knowledge to define analytic goals
Makes project-specific resource allocation decisions
Capacity to manage 1-5 direct reports
8+ years Corporate Strategy & Business Development experience
Highly prefer candidates from management consulting or investment banking with experience in managing complex healthcare based projects or transactions, or candidates from a healthcare organization with a successful track record in corporate development or strategy roles
Strategic Thinking : evaluating industry trends, developing long-term implications and recommending pragmatic strategies for new business opportunities
Analytical Rigor : ability to bring structure to ill-defined problems and intellectual leadership to problem solving; synthesize insights from analysis and ensure credible, actionable recommendations
Financial Acumen : understanding of financial modeling and experience with financial planning, budgeting and capital allocation in the context of strategic planning to maximize shareholder value
Communications skills : ability to develop rapport and credibility across the organization, promote ideas and proposals persuasively
Healthcare Knowledge : knowledge of stakeholders, trends, economic drivers and policy across healthcare
4-year Bachelor's degree in business or finance, or related field or equivalent experience
General office demands. Occasional travel, around 10%
