Job Description The Principal Data Engineering/Data Architect (Executive Advisor) role will collaborate with business partners to identity opportunities to leverage big data technologies in support of CVS.com personalization with a common set of tools and infrastructure to make analytics faster, more insightful, and more efficient. You and the team will build, and architect next generation data pipelines and machine learning frameworks developed on core big data technologies. You will design highly scalable and extensible big data platforms which enables collection, storage, modeling, and analysis of massive data sets from numerous channels. You will lead, define, and maintain data architecture, focusing on applying technology to enable business solutions. You will assess and provide recommendations on business relevance, with appropriate timing and deployment. This role will perform architecture design, data modeling, and implement big data platforms and analytic applications.
You will bring a DevOps mindset to enable big data and batch/real-time analytical solutions that leverage emerging technologies. You will develop prototypes and proof of concepts for the selected solutions and implement complex big data projects. You will apply a creative mindset to a focus on collecting, parsing, managing, and automating data feedback loops in support of business innovation.
Required Qualifications â¢ Experience with architecting and building data pipelines and applications on big data frameworks (i.e. Hadoop and Spark) in cloud-based platforms (i.e. Azure, GPC, AWS) â¢ Experience building automated data and ML pipelines and frameworks using orchestration tools (i.e. Airflow, Azure Data Factor, Kubeflow) â¢ Proficiency in SQL and one of the following programming languages: Python, Scala, Java â¢ Understanding of machine learning fundamentals and experience with MLOps and machine learning deployment and productionalization (i.e. MLFlow, Kubeflow) â¢ Experience with performing data analysis and data exploration, feature engineering, and developing metrics and KPI data layers for broader business and analytic consumption â¢ Experience working in multi-developer environment, using version control (i.e. Git) â¢ Experience working in an agile delivery environment â¢ Strong critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications â¢ Experience implementing DevOps best practice and CICD (i.e. Jenkins) â¢ Experience with understanding of containerization (i.e. Kubernetes, Docker) â¢ Experience with real-time and streaming technology (i.e. Azure Event Hubs, Azure Functions Kafka, Spark Streaming) â¢ Experience leading and managing a small team of data engineers
Education Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Physics, Math, or related fields.
Master's Degree Preferred â“ with coursework focused on advanced algorithms, mathematics in computing, data structures etc.
