This 2-year position supports the instructional design and delivery of teacher resources including but not limited to lesson plans, facilitates professional development content; and provides and facilitates teacher professional learning, technical and content assistance to participants in the program. Adhering to grant's professional learning and technical assistance approaches, systems and frameworks.
Department Specific Responsibilities:
Design and provide direct online synchronous professional development services to teachers serving historically marginalized and minoritized students to promote academic success.
Design and provide in-person support to schools providing direct student support around reading and math achievement tailored to school needs and grant expectations.
Interface and engage in meetings with teachers and project staff members to promote, scale and sustain educational resources and professional learning based in equity and inclusion frameworks.
Management of participant intake process, records, and overseeing data collection and information data entry.
Ability and desire to promote and advocate for equitable and inclusive online learning environments and to discuss equity and inclusion, particularly addressing issues of race, dis/ability, socioeconomic status, home language, ethnicity, LGBTQ+ identities, religion.
Provides support and guidance to faculty in both individual and group settings regarding instructional support, pedagogical practice, classroom management, and federal regulations like FERPA and Title IX.
Determines additional support needs through consultation and designs resources to meet educational support needs.
Participates in educational resources initiatives in coordination with faculty and staff to improve student academic outcomes and improve classroom experience.
Trains teaching assistants, associate instructors, and graders in grading methods, responding appropriately to student concerns, and resolving complex issues.
Plans seminars, workshops, and other events for faculty, associate instructors, and students, as requested and appropriate by faculty.
Advances programs from individual consultations/workshops to larger-scale transformative events/projects when appropriate.
May oversee student testing administration and consult regularly with students regarding coordination of educational resources.
May serve as an informational resource and/or delegate tasks to administrative staff.
Bachelor's degree in related field
Master's degree in a related field, such as education
2 years in a related field
4 years of teaching experience in a k-12 classroom
1 year of experience teaching in an online environment
1 year of experience designing and facilitating professional development for teacher learning.

Experience, knowledge and skills around student development, student learning, teacher learning, critical race theory, and sociocultural learning theories to address the needs of Pre-K-12 learners who are multicultural, multilingual, and/or learning, economically, or geographically diverse.
Experience and skillsets related to online learning environments and technology tools (e.g., Zoom, Canvas, Microsoft Suite, Outlook Suite, etc.) Experience in design and support of strategic data-driven instructional interventions in math and reading for k-12 students.
Ability to understand, communicate with and effectively interact with people across cultures.
Possesses a positive attitude towards cultural differences.
Willing to gain knowledge of different cultural practices and world views and determine how those practices and views will factor in during investigations, complaints, reports, findings, etc.
Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
