The Program Associate is a part of the Center for Global Study & Engagement's (CGSE) global and diverse team. This position facilitates the support, integration and cross-cultural adjustment of matriculating international and exchange students, Army War College Fellows' dependents and international visiting scholars and their families including immigration advising. This includes F-1 and J-1 visa advising and administrative/technical/compliance responsibilities in support of U.S. Government databases. The position serves as a bridge for our international population with key campus stakeholders including student life, the multi-lingual writing center, admissions, registrar, etc. In this role, the Program Associate will coordinate logistics and deliver content for campus orientations, programming, summer programming and other events related to campus internationalization and overall inclusion and equity initiatives and programming in the CGSE across Education Abroad and International and Student and Scholar Services. This position also serves in a support role for the entire CGSE division.
Coordinate and deliver activities, events, and programs designed to provide opportunities for campus and community engagement with the international population such as international and all student orientations and intercultural study abroad pre-departure orientations
Administrative/technical/compliance responsibilities in support of SEVIS, the Department of Homeland Security web-based system, Student and Exchange Visitor Information System – collecting information for initial forms I-20 and DS-2019. Advise on employment authorization and process OPT and CPT applications.
Collaborate with key campus and external stakeholders such as the US Army War College, Residence Life, Student Life, Landis Initiative (Popel Shaw Center for Race & Ethnicity), Registrar's Office, Student Accounts, Financial Operations, staff and partners abroad at our Dickinson in program sites, etc.
Advise, coordinate logistics and provide administrative support for international student and scholar on-boarding and orientation as well as on-going advising including responding to issues and crisis. Represent the CGSE as an advisor to student organizations such as We Introduce Nations at Dickinson (W.I.N.D.), the International Student Board, Global Ambassadors, etc.
Oversees the day-to-day running of the office, including such things as event planning, supply ordering, P-Card reconciliation, and support of Associate Provost schedule.
Through regular communication with ISSS staff, faculty and staff and partners off- campus, maintain and enhance informational resources on a continuous basis including websites and print and media publications. Make suggestions on policy and procedures to enhance efficiency and communication
Assist the Director of ISSS and the CGSE team with other projects as assigned

Position is required to work in the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS). SEVIS requires individuals must either be a citizen or a lawful permanent resident of the United States and must successfully complete the Form I-17A with the necessary accompanying documentation.
