The Employee Relations Group Manager is accountable for leading and directing a team of Employee Relations professionals who manage complex, sensitive, and highly visible matters and tasks across an entire region. Requires a comprehensive understanding of employee relations practices and how they interact with key stakeholders to deliver effective issue resolution and employee relations management. Applies in-depth understanding of the business impact of employment matters and partners with business leaders resolve issues, address gaps, and improve potential for meeting business goals. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often with senior managers, and communicate to key external parties. The role is accountable for the results achieved by direct reports and delivering successful operational and risk management. Engage in the strategic direction of the region Employee Relations team and participate in global projects focused on continuing the development of Citi's global employee relations practices.
Handles day-to-day staff management issues, including resource management, allocation of work within the team/project, performance management, and talent planning.
Support skill and capability development of the Employee Relations Advisors to enhance regional investigation skills and support consistent, efficient, and effective handling of complex employment matters.
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Conduct independent investigations, of complex HR-related concerns, including Ethics Office, executive and other escalations in order to thoroughly fact find, reach investigative conclusions, recommend resolutions and mitigate risk to the franchise within prescribed timeframes.
Facilitation and resolution of complex disciplinary matters consistent with standards outlined in the Global Disciplinary Review policy.
Develop and implement plans, practices, and procedures to further support the broader team in the handling of complex employment matters and engagement with key stakeholders.
Contributes to strategic planning for the regional employee relations team.
Recognizes as technical expert and known internally and externally as reliable, knowledgeable resource.
Provides an escalation point of investigations conducted by Employee Relations Leads.
