We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Business Development Manager.
The candidate will function as a senior marketer within the Sales & Business Development team of Issuer Services, Hong Kong
Based in Hong Kong, the candidate will be responsible for marketing of Corporate Trust & Loan Agency products and solutions to financial market participants such as issuers, borrowers, lead managers, arrangers, advisors and law firms across all capital market segments such as bonds, loans, project finance, escrows and securitisation
Collaborating closely with internal stakeholders, the candidate is also expected to foster and grow client relationships with all financial market stakeholders in order to position HSBC favourably for Corporate Trust & Loan Agency products and solutions, ultimately helping the Sales & Business Development team in HK to grow its market share in the corporate trust business to corporate and FI clients
Achieve sales revenue targets & increase revenues by generating new business for Issuer Services (???ISV???) by way of managing client discussions and delivering the right ISV product solutions as well as collaborating with internal stakeholders including relationship managers and product partners
Expand ISV???s business relationships and market share through direct negotiation /client calls/client presentation
This involves working closely with internal stakeholders such as Global Banking, Commercial Banking, Global Capital Financing and others
Manage a portfolio of clients against a predetermined set of criteria including target revenues, profitability risk criteria and business and risk filters
Develop and maintain both internal and external referral sources within dedicated portfolio such as:
External clients: Corporates, Financial Institutions, Top Tier Investment Banks, Regional and Local Commercial Banks, Consultants and Advisors, Law Firms????
Internal stakeholders: Global Banking and Markets, Global Capital Financing, Commercial Banking and other internal teams
Directly handle an assigned portfolio of clients and work with ISV colleagues as well as internal stakeholders to further develop the client portfolio and generate new mandates leading to increased Sales Revenues
Work effectively and collaboratively with internal stakeholders in deal pitches to win new ISV mandates and ensuring a seamless deal execution while observing the HSBC core values of open, connectivity and integrity
Minimum an Undergraduate Degree or equivalent professional qualification
Minimum of 10 years??? sales and marketing experience in financial and banking sector
Effective marketer with proven revenue track record in sales in banking sector
Prior banking experience in banking sector is a pre-requisite, with added advantage if candidate has prior banking experience in client coverage and relationship management (RM), credit and lending or capital markets/capital financing
Excellent co mmunication skills in English (both written and verbal)
Mandarin and Cantonese is not a key requirement but added advantage
Strong collaborator and team-player who is able to work effectively under various stakeholders
Able to work collaboratively in a pressurised environment
Well organised with an ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Attention to details with willingness to continuously learn and develop professional skills
