The University Housing and Dining Services is seeking an Assistant Director of Operations. This is a full-time 1.0 FTE, 12-month, professional faculty position.

This position will adhere to all OSU and UHDS policies and procedures.
The Assistant Director, Operations is responsible for developing and managing all aspects of the Assignments and Room Management and Service Center Operations programs. This includes occupancy strategy, application process, room assignment strategy, and fee assessment for UHDS residential facilities, including residence halls, apartments, and dining. This position supervises three full time coordinators: Assignments and Room Management Coordinator, Assignments and Retention Coordinator and a Service Center Operations and Apartment Assignments Coordinator, and provides them strategic direction for their programs. This position is the primary contact and advisor for stakeholder questions related to the housing assignment process and housing options for an approximately 5000 bed system. This position is responsible for the coordination of technological solutions as they relate to the assignments process, as well as providing reports, analysis, and recommendations pertaining to projections, occupancy, growth needs, and future living configurations. Supports the overall success of the UHDS Operations and Facilities Unit and serves as a liaison with university partners in providing a welcoming, accessible environment to all students. Coordinates customer service activities for service areas. This position is a leadership role within the department, providing vision, a proactive attitude, and the ability to work autonomously to manage programs that directly support the vision and mission of UHDS.
Typically requires Master's Degree in Business Administration, College Student Services Administration or related field. 1-3 years' experience managing a student related program or function including supervision and fiscal responsibilities.
Five years of progressive work experience in an area related to the work assigned and a Bachelor's degree in any field; OR Eight years of progressive work experience in an area related to the work assigned.
The ability to build and maintain collaborative working partnerships and provide a high level of internal and external customer service within the unit, department, and OSU community.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to communicate concepts, policies and procedures clearly and effectively.

Proficiency with a Windows-based personal computer and the Microsoft Office suite of software, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. The ability to manage and respond quickly to a large volume of email.

Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in Youth Programs may have additional Criminal History Checks every 24 months.
This position is deemed essential and the incumbent is expected to contact his/her supervisor (or Person In Charge) by phone during inclement weather, emergency and other University work curtailments or closures to determine if she/he must report to work.
