The Clinical Financial Analyst 2 will support the management and monitoring of both the Department of Psychiatry (DOP) and the Division of Clinical Psychiatry (DCP). Participates in the annual Clinical budgets and serves as resource for department and clinical administrators. Performs monthly routine tasks along with variety of analysis and provides recommendations regarding the most efficient use of resources. This position will assist in management of department z payments and prepare internal reports for various clinical programs. Applies organizational policies and procedures to resolve various issues. Works on problems of limited to moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of multiple factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
Six years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in related area plus two years of related experience/training.
Working knowledge of finance policies, practices, and systems.
Ability to gather reasonably retrievable information to organize, and perform basic financial analysis assignments.
Demonstrated ability to effectively present information verbally and in writing clearly and concisely.
Demonstrated ability using spreadsheet and database software for moderately complex financial analysis, fiscal management, and financial reports.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills at all levels within the unit; excellent service orientation and critical thinking skills; and attention to detail. Demonstrated ability using organizational skills to multi-task in a high volume environment.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
Ability to function as a member of a team.
Intermediate knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources.
Perform administrative analysis, analytical research, develop and present various financial reports to the clinical leadership of the clinical operating units, programs, and projects.
Proven ability to perform financial and / or resource analysis could include forecasts, staff or faculty salary analysis, endowment income, historical trend analysis, and data reliability verification.
Proven ability to coordinate fiscal closing procedures, ensuring compliance with University and agency requirements and preparing financial close-out reports.
Experience developing clear and concise methods for gathering, structuring and reporting institutional data to allow easy presentation of final data analysis.
Demonstrated experience evaluating data and identifying issues, options and alternate solutions; formulating and presenting recommendations.
Proven ability to process faculty supplemental z payments that are in accordance with the DOP compensation and/ or in accordance with the alignment with the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, Department Clinical Compensation Plan and wRVU model, and provider Memorandum of Understanding or contract experience.
