The Admissions Coordinator will implement recruitment activities by organizing and managing numerous events for prospective students to learn about the university and the educational opportunities available to them. This position is essential in maintaining personal outreach to prospective students. The selected candidate will advise and counsel prospective students and their families; interact with counselors, faculty and administrators; conduct various public presentations; and represent the University at college fairs and other public meetings and participate in outreach activities designed to recruit students to the university. Outreach efforts will be focused on increasing enrollment by attracting academically strong students from diverse backgrounds who value citizenship and integrity and ensure the University meets enrollment goals. The Admissions Coordinator will also attend various on campus recruitment/student centered events such as Preview SIUE; Meridian Scholars Day; Academic Open House programs; Transfer Visit Day and TRANSFERmation; and Move-In Day.
Additionally, the Admission Coordinator will assist with various communication projects such as creating and updating webpages; reviewing and proofing publications; answering admissions emails; managing social media outreach (Facebook, Twitter, etc.); creating electronic newsletter; and hosting group tours.
Due to the professional duties of this position, some travel may be required. Further duties and responsibilities may be assigned based on the needs and goals of the department and University.

- Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree; - Have served as/have experience as admissions counselor; - Proven written and oral communication skills, interpersonal and counseling skills; - Demonstrated positive work ethic; - Organization and time management skills; - Problem solving skills and abilities; - Understand and adhere to the Statement of Practices and Courtesies for the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC), as well as both the Illinois Association for College Admission Counseling (IACAC) and the Missouri Association for College Admission Counseling (MOACAC); - Must maintain a valid Illinois driver’s license.
