The Academic Success Coach Professional Advisor provides and documents holistic academic advising (e.g. success coaching, course selection assistance, referral to campus resources) for a set roster of students within specific majors, new and transfer students, exploring, undeclared, and students on academic probation, as well as students referred through our CARES system, similar to an early alert system. Additionally, the Coach is responsible to the Assistant Director of Advising for providing administrative clerical and technical support with analyses of students’ General Education status, collaborations with campus offices preregistration, and add/drop coordination, a
nd campus events including or related to academic advising. Finally, the Academic Success Center supports a diverse student population which requires the Academic Success Coaches to have a strong commitment to diversity equity and inclusivity
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience Master’s degree preferred
One to three years experience in a service-oriented environment, preferably in higher education.
Provide academic advising and success coaching which means providing holistic academic advising through a strengths-based approach in partnership with students to equip, resource and guide students in achieving academic goals
Maintain a roster of first and second-year students support onboarding of all new and transfers students on academic probation as well as s tudents referred through the CARES referral system
Evaluate General Education status for specific student populations and foster student planning and problem-solving to facilitate timely completion of General Education and other degree requirements
Connect students with appropriate APU resources (e.g. for tutoring, career, major exploration, wellness)
Answer advising questions posed by faculty advisors staff students and parents within FERPA guidelines
Collaborate with academic departments to support departmental advising and to maintain accuracy of academic maps for assigned degree programs
Liaise with Enrollment Management Services Student Life and other offices to coordinate and staff campus events that include academic advising
Organize and maintain office and up-to-date student advising files
Maintain daily electronic timekeeping to document regular punctual attendance
Execute projects as assigned by t he Director and Assistant Director

Proficient in Microsoft Office, Exchange, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Grade 8: $21.44-$27.87/hourly
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
