The Assistant Director of Transfer Admissions manages the daily operation of transfer recruitment and runs point on all programs and activities which help bolster outreach, recruitment and retention efforts targeted at prospective and applying transfer students. The person must have demonstrated ability to work independently as well as within a team structure to reach aggressive transfer enrollment goals.
The Assistant Director provides supervision and leadership to the Transfer Admissions Counselor. Together the Assistant Director of and the Counselor will divide transfer recruitment assignments and will develop a recruitment plan for reaching both Spring and Fall transfer enrollment targets. Further, the Assistant Director is expected to use and analyze data to determine which recruitment tactics and strategies are effective and which are not while creating new tactics to open and reach new markets. A general understanding of financial aid and how it used in the recruitment of transfers students is a requirement for this position.
The Assistant Director will have specific duties assigned and is expected to provide exceptional customer service to prospective and applying transfer students, their families, and community college partners. to aid in the enrollment of transfer students in the fall and spring terms.
The Assistant Director will be expected to forge relationships with key advisors at local community colleges as well as with faculty and staff throughout the Nazareth Community. Further, the Assistant Director is expected to determine new opportunities to reach the transfer market such as the use of social media, geo-fencing and other forms of
As member of the Transfer Team, the Assistant Director will be expected to work evening and weekends, assist in travel to fairs and community events for recruitment and outreach, review transfer applications, participate in on- and off-campus recruitment and yield events, and act as an advisor to prospective and incoming transfers.
Through recruitment efforts at community colleges and outreach in the community, the Assistant Director will help to educate and provide exposure about Nazareth College, including enhancing the understanding of the campus experience, application, transfer credit evaluation, scholarship, and financial aid processes.
The Assistant Director of Transfer Admissions will be expected to have a working knowledge of the freshmen admissions process and combined programs offered at Nazareth College. Specific duties will be assigned particularly during peak recruitment activities. This may include assisting with freshmen recruitment activities and yield events.
* Management of the applicant pool from submission to enrollment. * Point of contact for transfer applicants, families, and community college advisors regarding the college transfer process. Counsels prospective students to aid in development of a transfer plan for success. * Ability and willingness to speak publicly and conduct information sessions on a regular basis * Serves as a transfer credit evaluation resource, provides an estimated assessment of educational credits in compliance with degree requirements. * Collaborates with the Academic Advisement Center and academic departments to stay informed on transfer credit policies. * Utilizes the Transfer Evaluation System and develops and recommends to faculty transfer course equivalencies for prospective students to assess their credits. * Prepares and delivers group information sessions (on and off campus) to prospective transfer students. * Assists with Transfer Thursdays. * Conducts scheduled and walk-in admission interviews. * Maintains regular telephone, email, and texting contact with prospective students. * Develops and maintains articulation agreements with community colleges and four year schools.
* Bachelor’s degree with at least one year of Higher Ed experience * Exceptional organizational skills and be able to attend to and prioritize projects. * Ability to successfully manage interpersonal working relationships.
