The Supervision Fiduciary Oversight and Controls Sales Supervision Manager is responsible for the development, operation, and testing of business processes related to the firm's adherence to the PPA exemption and fiduciary standards. They will provide guidance to business partners at all level of the organization, and act as subject matter expert for the Supervision department's controls, processes. policies and procedures. In addition, this role will conduct review of Outside Business Activity (OBA) disclosures submitted by field registered representatives.
Fiduciary Oversight and Controls ??? Operate, maintain, and assess business processes to drive adherence to the PPA exemption, including leading the development of metrics for controls. Complete high- to mid- level review and monitoring, coordinate with product subject matter experts on deep level reviews. Identify and resolve gaps arising from technology or other challenges; identify interim solutions to satisfy supervisory requirements. ??? Represent Supervision to drive effective execution of policies, procedures and controls, including those specific to the Pension Protection Act (PPA). Act as a subject matter expert of Risk Mitigation's PPA controls and processes, and provide guidance to business partners at all levels of the organization. ??? Support PPA Champions with the investigation and resolution of control findings and failures, the collection and analysis of data to help drive effective processes, and the reporting of metrics and outcomes of supervisory processes. ??? Communicate with advisors and field leaders regarding results of supervisory activity, including providing one-on-one coaching and delivering sensitive messages. ??? The candidate will be expected to effectively handle escalated and sensitive issues. ??? Contact with advisors, field leaders, internal/external auditors and potential client interaction will also be required.
Outside Business Activities (OBAs) ??? Perform first-level reviews of advisor-submitted OBAs & ADVs ??? Follow-up with advisors and field RPs to confirm required tasks are completed ??? Monitor OBA mailbox to prioritize cases and confirm that response times are met ??? Provide subject matter expertise to advisors and field leaders to ensure compliance with policies ??? Partner with Centralized Supervision Unit (CSU) CSU Registered Principals (RPs) when there is an issue that requires extensive research, including resolving field leader escalations
??? Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant work experience. ??? At least 5 years financial services industry experience with proven success in sales supervision, compliance or other advisor-facing functions. ??? Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills; ability to effectively analyze complex issues. ??? Demonstrated ability to consistently exercise good judgment when making decisions on complex matters that don't have clear answers. ??? Strong experience with advisor facing and CSU supervisory tools ??? Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to effectively deliver unfavorable communications and/or discipline with advisors, field RPs and other leaders. ??? Must have the ability to consistently influence positive advisor behavior through coaching and education. ??? Ability to record evidence of supervision in a fact based manner. ??? Demonstrated strategic thinking expertise. ??? Strong proficiency with computer programs and a demonstrated ability to use technology to improve efficiency. ??? Ability to work effectively and efficiently both individually and in a team environment. ??? Series 7 required; series 24, 63/65 or 66 required within 120 days concurrently
Strong Microsoft office skills and ability to create metrics and reports
