The Board of the Victor Elementary School District announces an opening for the position of District Superintendent as the current Superintendent is retiring after a distinguished 28-year career as a teacher, principal, Assistant Superintendent and the last 10 years as Superintendent. The Board invites an empathetic, people-oriented educational leader with a track record of success to apply.
The Board seeks a Visionary, Collaborative, Hands-on, CEO to continue a culture of award-winning educational excellence by first establishing trust through positive pro-active staff relations. Someone who is committed to the growth and improvement of those being led by being fair and impartial. The District has a history of valuing Superintendent stability and the Board desires a long-term relationship with the selected candidate with a starting date of February 1, 2022.

The Board of Trustees of the Victor Elementary School District has requested the assistance of the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools (SBCSS) office in its search for a Superintendent. Dr. Ralph Baker, Districts’ Governance Advisor, has been assigned to serve as Board Advisor. Applications that are appropriately filed will be screened by a screening committee of professionals authorized by the Board of Trustees.
The Governing Board will select the finalists for an interview with input from the screening committee. Board interviews are tentatively scheduled for Saturday, December 11, 2021. Prior to final selection, a committee of the Board may conduct a one-day community visit to the final candidate’s current school or district. The one-day community visit is tentatively scheduled for the week of December 13-17, 2021 (exact time & day TBD).
Expected start date is Monday, February 1, 2022

Victor Elementary School District has a five-member Board of Trustees and serves approximately 12,000 TK/K-6 grade students. There are 18 parent choice schools with an extensive record of being recognized at the state and the national levels for their excellent educational programs.

Victorville is centrally located between Los Angeles and Las Vegas and home to approximately 125,000 residents. It is close to the Big Bear Lake and Lake Arrowhead communities providing recreational opportunities in boating, hiking, fishing, and snow skiing. It is less than an hour to Ontario International Airport and a few hours from beaches as well as to Palm Springs.
The community and school district are nestled at the 2800 ft. level with a dry high desert climate. It enjoys cool springs and falls and hot summers. Temperatures can range from below freezing in winter, with occasional light snow, to 110° in the summer. There is plenty of sunshine and low humidity throughout the year.
