This position is responsible for various administrative, coordinating, and reception activities related to the Weston Career Center appointments and and operations. This position involves serving as the Weston Career Center receptionist along with providing support to the Weston Career Center office staff. The position assists with the planning and coordination of various Weston Career Center events and appointments.
This is a full-time temporary position for up to three months with the possibility of conversion to a permanent role.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Serve as receptionist for the Undergraduate Programs Office.
Staff the Weston Career Center reception area and ensure that it is covered continuously during the hours of operation; serve as front office greeter for students, prospective students, and visitors, providing exceptional customer service.
Help to maintain staff calendars using Microsoft Outlook and assist with travel plans as necessary.
Schedule staff meetings and various committee meetings.
Schedule appointments for Weston Career Center staff and advisors.
Work with the faculty of co-curricular courses involving WCC in aspects involving calendars and coordinator of staff.
Support the tracking of information needed to feed WCC systems, as appropriate/needed.
Build rapport, understand student needs to schedule appointments.
Identify and elevate issues; recommend options and solutions.
Screen telephone calls and visitors to the office.
Maintain safe and clean Weston Career Center lobby.
Maintain updated information for literature racks.
Previous experience as a receptionist.
Verbal and written communication skills.
Professional personal presentation.
Customer service orientation.
Experience with information management.
Ability to organize and plan.
Attention to detail.
Ability to respect confidentiality in discussing student, staff, volunteers and organizational matters.
High school diploma or equivalent high school certification.
One year of work experience.
