Working under the supervision of the Associate Dean of Admissions, the Admissions Counselor is responsible for recruiting prospective students in a designated territory and will develop and coordinate prospective student outreach programs. This position strives to increase the yield rate of Bluegrass Community and Technical College and focuses on campus tours, developing and implementing events.

Outreach - Recruit as according to the KYACAC schedule and special populations within an assigned territory. Will also represent BCTC at various Civic groups, organizations and Business and Industry facilities.
Participate in the development of recruitment strategies as designed in the recruitment plan as they relate to yield programs and events. Initiates, plans and executes programs/activities at all Lexington Campuses. Evaluates program effectiveness, assesses outcomes and develops improved programming to achieve goals and objectives.
Counsel prospective students, parents and families on admission requirements, transfer in guidelines, scholarships, articulation agreements and other available opportunities. Admissions counseling occurs primarily in-person, phone calls and emails.
Customer Relationship Management – will enter all prospect cards/information to run reports/queries to utilize for programs/events. Will utilize the CRM System to correspond to prospective students to increase the yield.
Facilitate individual and group tours for the Cooper, Leestown and Newtown campuses and participates as an active member of the Recruitment Team.
Recruitment Programming – Co-develop and implement programs/events such as Open Houses, Preview Days, etc. to increase the yield rate.
Work with faculty in all technical programs as it relates to recruitment to enhance the campus visit experience; serve on BCTC committees as assigned by the President, VP for Student Development and Enrollment Management and/or Associate Dean of Admissions; be familiar with all Senate Rules relating to admissions and accurately interpret those to students.
Serve as liaison for the Access Pillar and faculty to present recruitment opportunities; develop and maintain accurate statistical data/reports regarding prospective students via the CRM and the Enrollment Management Module, develop and maintain statistical data/reports regarding recruitment activities, composes routine communication to prospective students and families; Participate in Freshman Orientation.
Maintain membership of the Kentucky Association of Secondary and College Admission Counselors (KYACAC), the Kentucky Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (KACRAO) and the Southern Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (SACRAO). Attend annual state meetings/conferences and other training and professional development sessions as appropriate.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education/Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree (related field) and one year related experience, or equivalent.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Willing to travel within the state to recruit prospective students
Flexibility to render services at multiple campuses
