This position reports to the Executive Director of Budget and Finance for the Camden Campus. Responsible for directing, managing, reconciling and maintaining the financial aspects of the Dining Unit, the Campus Retail Unit, Events Operations and Other Units/Orgs as assigned on the Camden Campus. Monitors, verifies, and develops reports on expenditures of budgeted funds and prepares financial statements reflecting the forecasted status of programs and activities and their financial impact on the unit(s) as a whole. Provides independent analysis of financial data and prepares financial documents and reports for internal and external purposes. Manages business operations to ensure the compliance of University policies and procedures and serves as an advisor in developing financial planning and resource planning consistent with University policies and the campus strategic plan. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: directing support staff; ensuring that all transactions are processed in a timely manner for month-end closing in the unit; approves HR hires for Dining Unit and/or other units. Approves Journal Entries; reviews and approves P-Card requests; reviews Dining Unit, Campus Retail Unit, Events Operations and Other Units/Orgs activity as assigned; reconciles external invoices against SAR data; prepares budget and forecasts and reports all findings to the Executive Director.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Requires a Bachelor's degree preferably in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and practices (GAAP). Also requires a minimum of two years of relevant experience in a financial/accounting function.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must have excellent communication skills and computer literacy; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Must be skilled in understanding database structure and have the ability to manipulate data imports and exports for financial reporting and analysis. Knowledge and experience with journal entries, financial statement preparation, and general accounting concepts are also required.
Ability to work independently and to exercise confidentiality and discretion in the operational decision-making process.
Master's degree or CPA preferred. Experience working in a higher education environment preferred. An in-depth understanding of the current Rutgers University Systems: Oracle, EPBCS, PeopleSoft and Discoverer preferred. Strong preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of Tableau, Oracle ERP Cloud, and Oracle Enterprise Budget Planning Cloud software regardless of public, private or university setting.
Specialized equipment for the incumbent will be in the shape of the software identified above.

Prolonged computer utilization and long periods in sedentary positioning.
Salary: Starting salary will be commensurate with experience and within departmental budgets.
