This position must assist the Director of Athletic Academics with managing the Office of Athletic Academics and the academic welfare of all student-athletes. In addition, this position may serve as an Athletic Academic Counselor, when/where it is necessary and needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Mentors Athletic Academic Counselors. 2. Performs all duties of an athletic academic counselor. 3. Serves as a member of the Office of Athletic Academics leadership team. 4. Serves as Teamworks Administrator. 5. Oversight of the Graduate Assistant Training Program. 6. Performs other duties as assigned by the Director.
May supervise 2-3 Athletic Academic Counselors.
Master's degree in Education, Sports Administration, Communication, or related field with four (4) years of experience in an Athletic Academic office on a university campus.
Understanding the demands of being a student-athlete is desirable. Current knowledge of SEC and NCAA rules is desirable.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Familiar with Microsoft Office, Teamworks, GradesFirst and other pertinent software programs. Knowledge in effective learning strategies, motivational techniques, and study skill development. Demonstrate ability to exercise sound judgement and handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and according to FERPA guidelines. Skill in working independently and following through on duties with minimal direction. Ability to work effectively with others in situations that may be time sensitive or otherwise highly pressured, including students, coaches, academic personnel, faculty and staff. Ability to interact diplomatically with individuals of various social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds. Outstanding listening, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
No unusual physical requirements. Requires no heavy lifting and nearly all work is performed in a comfortable indoor facility. Externally imposed deadlines, set and revised beyond one's control; interruptions influence priorities; difficult to anticipate nature or volume of work with certainty beyond a few days; meeting of deadlines and coordination of unrelated activities are key to position; may involve conflict resolution or similar interactions involving emotional issues or stress on a regular basis. Job frequently requires sitting, reaching, talking, hearing, and handling objects with hands. Job occasionally requires standing, walking, stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling, and lifting up to 10 pounds. Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
