Detailed Job Description This position oversees building and maintaining all aspects of the College of Liberal Arts schedule of classes in PeopleSoft. Assists students with registration, drop/add, and academic procedures as needed. This position requires a high level of customer service and extensive contact with students, faculty, and staff from various departments.
Coordinate, schedule, and monitor CLA's overall academic scheduling process. Enter course information for each term into PeopleSoft including dates/times, classrooms, and instructors. Keep Associate Director and department scheduling contacts aware of scheduling concerns and oversee coordinating problem resolution. Ensure schedule is finalized before each term enrollment period; run queries in PeopleSoft to identify any issues within the schedule and work with departments to resolve any issues prior to student enrollment. Gathers the College of Liberal Arts final exam schedule information, coordinates with the registrar's office to schedule special circumstance exams and common exams.
Collaborate with the registrar and college scheduling officers to trouble shoot scheduling problems; determine classroom needs; and schedule events. Continuously monitor space availability across campus to meet the needs to CLA course demands. Act as CLA's representative to the council of scheduling officers.
Manage enrollment requirement groups, restrictions, reserve capacities and permission numbers. During add/drop period assists instructors, department chairs and advisors with student schedule changes and class overloads, helps to manage waitlists and monitor reserve seat release.
College of Liberal Arts liaison for the Disability Service's Office. When necessary, coordinate with department chairs and/or dean's office to work with faculty to ensure compliance. Collaborate with DSO for all classroom needs for students.
Manage event reservation requests for meetings, lectures, college events and conferences in EMS and finds open space using PeopleSoft when necessary.
Provide support to the College Curriculum Committee; respond to inquiries regarding the college's curriculum documents and tables;process curriculum forms for the Registrar; and track all curriculum changes.
OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED
Required Minimum Qualifications 1-3 years of data management and/or scheduling preferred. Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, computing, analytical and logical reasoning skills required. And the ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and ethical conduct regarding student and faculty information is required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Microsoft Excel required. Proficiency in PeopleSoft Student Information System preferred.
Preferred: Proficiency in Oracle preferred. Bachelors Preferred
