JOB SUMMARY: Evaluates revenue cycle performance operations, independently. Ensures appropriate reimbursement of professional and technical services for the area of anesthesia serving as a liaison between the department of anesthesia and revenue cycle.
An understanding as to how anesthesia charges are calculated i.e., base units, time units and modifiers.
Knowledge of CMS guidelines regarding Medial Direction and how medical supervision impacts revenue.
Understanding of how different payors reimburse for anesthesia services.
Acts as a department liaison between anesthesia and revenue cycle. Works collaboratively to solve problems.
Project management skills and leadership skills required to facilitate problem solving and account management.
Experience preparing for and presenting data, trends, etc. to physicians and administrators.
Designs, plans, and implements billing procedures and systems for new services to ensure effective billing operations.
Manages performance of billing function with respect to established operating standards.
Facilitates necessary training and oversight to ensure competency with respect to billing compliance and regulatory matters.
Engages in continuous process improvement initiatives to ensure a high-quality and cost-efficient billing and collection operation.

QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) and 4-5 years' experience in anesthesia billing.
