Engage and build relationships with various vendors that include mail house, printers, editors, photographers, and others.
Is motivated by attention to details by overseeing data entry of prospective student contact information, application materials, and application decisions for undergraduate applicants, including managing the reading assignments, decisions entry, and verifying process for applications.

As the Undergraduate Admissions Assistant your responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
Provides technical support for and inputs data into university databases, such as ImageNow, Slate, and Oracle PeopleSoft.
Maintains admissions databases, as well as researches, prepares, and drafts materials and charts for presentations by Director of Admissions.
Manages implementation of direct mailing to over 300,000 targeted prospective applicants, as well as guidance and transfer counselors.
Provides administrative and operational support for the ILR Admissions Team, including scheduling and planning of events, such as Cornell Days and managing the department calendar.
Manages office's schedules and room reservations. Responsible for processing receipts and verifying budget expenses.
Works closely with the Director to manage Admissions Budget.
Assists in planning off campus programs, Saturday Visit Days, and Cornell Days. Works closely with catering, room reservation systems and other hosts for various events.
We require the following traits:
Associate degree with 3 to 4 years administrative experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience is required.
Previous experience in a high-traffic office.
Must possess a pleasant outgoing disposition and a professional demeanor.
Individual must be sensitive to others' needs and possess a high degree of diplomatic aptitude.
A demonstrated ability to work in a lively environment without being distracted is essential.
Must have outstanding interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work with diverse clientele as the position requires considerable interaction with students, parents, alumni, and other audiences.
Possess the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects/assignments, work under pressure, and meet established deadlines.
Past experience functioning as an effective team player is required.
Exercise good judgment and logic to anticipate and solve problems independently.
Organizational skills and attention to detail are critical.
Excellent writing, proofreading, and editing skills are necessary to be able to make individualized (non-standard) responses.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Prior experience with calendar management and logistical planning.
A demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality is essential.
Ability to act as liaison for university admissions offices and admissions processing center.
Demonstrated ability to perform highly complex, technical word processing tasks, requiring a thorough knowledge of a variety of word and data manipulation methods.
Proficient with various software such as, but not limited to: Oracle PeopleSoft, ImageNow, Slate, and all Microsoft Office applications, such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Should be familiar with the University policy on release of information for internal and external inquiries regarding student information. For example, an external organization calling to confirm if student has received a degree or if the student is registered.
Prior experience in an academic setting working with students and faculty.
Prior experience with event planning.
Knowledge of Cornell University budget systems and payment request processes.
