Detailed Job Description Serves as NTID Representative on the RIT Council of Scheduling Offices. Manages, coordinates, and maintains the NTID Academic Scheduling process involving eight academic departments and one service department in the college. Supports over 170 faculty and more than 10 adjuncts in a college with 1,200 students and 28 degree and certificate producing programs (associate's degree, bachelor of science, and master of science), Responsible for all matters pertaining to room and course scheduling, final exam scheduling, data management, grade reporting, processing academic actions and forms, support the to the curriculum committee, and college liason to the Registrar's Office. College liason to both the Academic Support Center. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as the College Scheduling Officer and Registrar. Manage the overall NTID Academic Scheduling processes adhering to RIT and NTID scheduling policies and procedures.
Schedule classes, sections, and events for all departments as well as external requests each academic period.
Consult and advise with each academic unit to ensure maximum utilization and efficiency of all classrooms and labs.
College liason with the Registrar's Office; distribute and process forms (suspension, probation, grades, grad applications, certifications) and reports; distribute annual deadlines to department; inform departments of changes, new programs, unmet needs; and attend meetings and training for new SIS system and calendar conversion.
Create and maintain College's historic data on course scheduling, room utilization, degree department changes, and academic forms. Run reports for NTID administrators.
Prepare the Final Exam Schedule during each academic period.
Respond to inquiries from faculty, staff, and students on scheduling, registration, and room assignments.
Support College Curriculum Committee; respond to inquiries from the College's curriculum documents to conversion website, process curriculum forms to the Registrar; maintain library of approved programs; maintain curriculum-course master file, course data, and course information in the college document management system.
Serve as member of the College Academic Advising Committee. Develop protocols and procedures to improve student retention. Examples include development and implementation of the College Early Alert Protocol, Plan of Study Initiative (mandatory advising), College Student Success Tracking System.
Serve as member of the University Council of Scheduling Officers. Attend weekly meetings with the University Registrar and College Scheduling Officers.
Serve as the primary liason between College departments and the University Registrar and Student Financial Services and other administrative offices across the University.
Consult with department chairs, academic advisors and other College administrators to interpret University educational policies and procedures. Recommend appropriate course of action related to student status and student records.
Coordinate and manage selected University Publications - Undergraduate and Graduate Course Descriptions. Assist in reviewing bulletins for curriculum accuracy.
Maintain an on-call presence 24-7 with Campus Safety for room scheduling issues that occur after normal work hours and on weekends and holidays.
Serve as primary backup to the College Events Manager.

Required Minimum Qualifications
Associates degree: Education, records management or related field
1-2 years experience working in higher education.
1-2 years experience working as an assistant scheduling officer, in a Registrars office, or related setting.
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook) and Google documents
Experience with electronic document management system (e.g., Alfresco)
Working knowledge of registration policies and procedures
Strong analytic and problem solving skills
Strong attention to details
Strong organizational skills
Demonstrated ability to work independently, multi-task, and contribute to the overall team effort
Demonstrated ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
Excellent customer service skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills; thorough knowledge of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling with a demonstrated ability to produce professional communications that meet high standards for appearance, grammar, spelling, and clarity.
