Reporting to the Associate Director of Alumni & Friends Engagement, the Assistant Director of Alumni & Friends Engagement will build long-term, meaningful relationships between Clark University and its alumni, parents and current students.
The Assistant Director will work with affinity groups, manage reunion classes, advise the Student Alumni Relations Committee, update event calendars, respond to alumni inquiries, and provide general support for all department events.
The position requires a tactful individual with a high level of initiative, exceptional customer service skills, strong organizational skills, and the ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Develop, implement, and evaluate alumni of color and LGBTQIA+ affinity group programming; work with volunteer leaders to support all affinity-related initiatives.
Manage reunion classes; work with volunteer committees to support planning, outreach and fundraising efforts.
Serve as an advisor to the Student Alumni Relations Committee (SARC); assist students with the design, implementation, and evaluation of mission-specific programming.
Collaborate with University Marketing & Communications to provide class notes, alumni photos and other reports for the biannual Clark Magazine.
Provide support for?and help staff?the department's regional events and major special events, including: Reunion, Family Weekend and Volunteer Training Weekend.
Update the Alumni & Friends Engagement event calendars; maintain accurate data to evaluate event success.
Respond to all alumni inquiries (email, phone, postal mail) in a timely manner
Bachelor's degree required.
1-3 years of related experience and demonstrated success providing a high level of thoughtful customer service.
Must be able to work independently to meet multiple time-sensitive deadlines.
Effectively steward confidential information to ensure sensitive data and donor information is handled with care.
Demonstrated good judgement.
Strong computer skills are required, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Raiser's Edge or similar CRM technology.
Become familiar with Clark's academic and extracurricular programs?its students, faculty, volunteers, alumni and others to help advance Clark's mission and values.
Occasional weekend and evening work is required
